Someone already mentioned Moose. I forgot about Lester. He was one of my favorite players.
Dick "Night Trane" Lane
"The Galloping Ghost"
Karl "The Truth" Williams
Kirby Dar Dar (okay, not a nickname, but just a weird name and he played at Syracuse)
"Moose" Johnston (I always love names like Lou, Deuce or Moose and hearing the crowd go "Mooooooooose" everytime he got a carry. Oh, he played for SU as well)
"Cement" Wimbley (Kamerion Wimbley's nickname)
"Concrete Charlie" Chuck Bednarik
"The Polish Rifle" Ron Jaworski
"Majik Man" Don Majkowski (sp?)
"DON'T THROW IT TO STONEHANDS" <insert last name here> (my nicknames to Alexander Wright, Randall Williams and Eric Bjornson. All of whom couldn't catch a cold if they were buck naked in Green Bay in February)
"Mean" Joe Green (simple, but perfectly stated)
Billy "White Shoes" Johnson
Who was "The Galloping Ghost"?
I loved the Primetime moniker give to Deion, he also had Neon Deion
Duh... the headless horseman.
I was listening to sports radio in Atlanta and the question was to name some player's nicknames that you don't like.
One guy with a deep southern accent says "I can't stand Jake Plummer's nickname.."the snake" because he stole it."
The host of the show says "yeah, I can see that as being an insult to Kenny Stabler."
The southerner replies "screw Ken Stabler, I'm talking about JAKE ROBERTS."
Almost ran off the road laughing so hard when I heard that.
"SHE"= TERRY GLENN.....
:laugh1: :laugh1: I forgot that one!
Roy "'jetstream" Green.. wr for the cards was pretty cool too.
Mike Vick = Ron Mexico

The Cowboys had two Big Cats: Rayfield Wright and Leon Lett
Puddin' = Walt Garrison, courtesy of Meredith
Tony "Thrill" Hill
Mike Ditka = Chipmunk, or Munk, according to Walt Garrison
Joe Montana = Joe Cool

TO = The Answer

Yup, Prick is the right word! :laugh2:
I don't doubt you're right, I just remember DM calling Alworth Bambi on MNF and thought it was one of Merideth's famous nicknames that he seemed to hang on people right and left.
I remember Merideth hanging "Lil' Puddin'" on Walt Garrison! I still miss his wit on MNF.
That is a perfect one for Theesman so is snap crackle and pop
Oh man. Those are still 2 of my favorites along with Doomsday. I can't believe I didn't think of them, or Doomsday for that matter.
