    By Calvin Watkins

IRVING, Texas -- Outside linebacker Anthony Spencer could be in his final days wearing a Dallas Cowboys uniform.

Spencer, a 2007 first-round pick, is in the final year of his deal and if the Cowboys lose to the New York Giants on Sunday night, ending their season, he'll become an unrestricted free agent.

"It could be," Spencer said after Thursday's practice at Valley Ranch. "It's a fact. I really don’t think about it. I play to win and try to get through the season and get to where we want to be at the beginning of the season to now. It hasn’t changed."

"Yeah, I've been here, I like it here," Spencer said. "I don’t want to go nowhere else but I got to do what's best for me and my family."

yea maybe he will resign for backup money

now who does not want to draft OLB first

It just as easily might not be. They want him back.

If he doesn't demand to much he should be brought back. He's a solid outside linebacker.

This is one time...on the defense, and at outside linebacker, I just don't want good. I want another top shelf player.

Let him walk imo. He's not agile enough for olb. Ever see him put a bead on a qb? Even the most immobile of immobile qb's fake him out of his jock. Let someone else have at it. Butler would be fine there...

Sadly your right but they also wanted Chris Canty back badly and he got himself a sweet little deal cause Dallas took the same approach with him. So IMO, there is still hope.

Spencer has never been worth the first rd pick we used. Time to move on

The thing about Spencer is he could be a top-flight pass rusher... but he doesn't get it...

He ALWAYS goes inside and abandons his responsibility in the flats...

The kid has all of the tools he needs, he just doesn't get it...

He is a decent player but plays more like a third rounder as opposed to a first rounder...

I applauded the pick at the time... I was wrong...

PS: Don't tell my wife I said I was wrong...

I wouldn't be sad at all. I really don't want to create another Draft need.

If somebody wants to over pay for him, he is all theirs. This is a contract year and we should have seen his best football. Sadly he played his best football two seasons ago for half a season where he was dominant. Other than that he has been a JAG.

I'm not so sure it would. Dallas will be looking to add depth there anyways and on top of that, I have heard the Cowboys have played with the idea of moving Bruce Carter to his natural position of OLB anyways.

Carter would have to put on a lot of weight.

Carter would probably carry weight well, similarly to DeMarco Ware.

Says alot about our GM that we make a move to lock up Scandrick and Sensabaugh to long term contracts, but not Spencer. Not suprised though.
