[CDATA[Dallas center Travis Frederick was the first rookie to start every game at center in franchise history.]]>

Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team on Tuesday.

Frederick is the first rookie to start every game at center for the Cowboys and was the first Dallas rookie to start a season opener at center since Andre Gurode in 2002.

People still don't like the pick. Not because he didn't prove solid. But because of his perceived value in the draft.

At some point folks need to move on. At the rate OL were flying off the board, I still believe he wouldn't have been there. But to get him AND Williams, I think we did ok.

While it's impossible to prove you are right it's my opinion also that Fredbeard would not have been available for us in the 2nd round.

We did more than OK in that trade.

I agree with you on the Fred part but the real killer IMO is that we could have had Keenan Allen. The irony of him being Offensive rookie of the year......

I was against the pick initially but have gladly changed my tune (wanted Reid). Considering the other options that we would've been left with for the OL and the potential displayed by Fred as the anchor takes precedent over the possible Floyd pick. JJ wouldn't pick two ol in first 2 rounds so Fred/Warford wasn't going to happen even if it made good football sense.

Keenan Allen wouldn't have had the same production in Dallas. His numbers would probably be real similar to T Will.

Having Keenan Allen means our center is still Phil Costa. You guys sure about that?

I agree that he would not have had as good of numbers, but he does appear to be the better player.

Cowboys were targeting Cordarelle Patterson with that pick but Minnesota jumped In front of Dallas to take him. I had no problem with drafting Fredrick, I just thought we should've gotten more than just a 3rd rd pick to drop all the way from 18 to 31.

I thought I read something last year that said Dooley was not a big fan of Patterson when he was HC at Tenn. If true, why would we be targeting him in the 1st round? Interesting if true.
