I understand why people on this board want him & like him so much, but those that think he will fall to the 4th-5th rounds are crazy in my eyes.. This guy is a solid football player & will be snatched up by the end of the 3rd, just watch...

Yeah, that'll happen... never mind that NFL Draft Scout, which I consider to be just about the best draft service available online, rates him their 213th best prospect...

They're the best because they steal information from National Football Scouting (Cowboys are a member), lol.

I like this guy, he can play...

I'd love to have him in the 3rd, if he lasts that long...

Carder is a bit of a developmental player. He needs to add size and strength. I really see him going somewhere between the backend of the 3rd round and the 5th.

ESPN Scouts Inc. has him rated as a 5th rounder.

Bunting has him rated as the 224th best prospect.

As mentioned above, CBS has him at 213.

Just an FYI, from the sounds of it this guy is going to get the Sean Lee treatment and if anyone remembers reading my threads this time of year when Sean Lee was coming for a visit they will know what I mean. I just wonder if it will be Sean Lee giving the Sean Lee treatment or Coach Keith Brooking or player Keith Brooking..........hmmm

    lol

He'd be a good depth add to the roster. I think he could be quality depth for us at ILB and play on the special teams. He isn't very big but he is a good tackler, has good instincts and appears to be a better athlete than most expected at the Combine.

If you stack up Lee next to Carter they would appear to be almost identical athletically.

Combine and Pro Day results almost identical for height, weight, 40-yard dash, short shuttle and 3-cone drill. Lee had 3 extra inches on the vertical and 5 reps on the bench.

If Lee fits our 3-4 based on athletic ability and size than Carder must, too. It's now just a question of whether the coaches like him as a football player. If they do then 3rd or 4th round would have to be in play.

I don't get the reference SDogo. What's the "Sean Lee" treatment?

TCU plays a straight 4-2-5 and their ILBs are all good athletes by collegiate standards.

It is very hard to couch scout an ILB and especially one who plays nothing but nickel defense.

This is a job for the grown up scouts, 100%.

Is he Daryl Washington or one of the TCU LBs who have busted out of the NFL.
He didn't impress me as much as the Hodge kid we drafted but never got healthy and on the field.

He does have a very cool name though and is local! Those are plusses....

Lee may have had the most extensive visit with the Cowboys that I remember. I'm sure it has taken place before, just you don't typically hear about it. Lee's visit lasted almost 13 hours. Besides the typical meet and greet, work out and tour, Lee sat with Brooking and had a hour long interview proceeded by hours of film study and defensive philosophy talk. Now I'm sure Lee is just as much to blame for this as anyone, once you get him talking football and in a film room he can set up shop.
