The JJ Watt ruage got me thinking. If you could back now and assemble the best picks that Dallas possibly could have had, given the picks they had, what would the result look like.

Couple Rules: Go back as far you like but 10 years should give Dallas the ability to take some really awesome players.

    1. You can only use Dallas picks. No moving up or down, just stay in their slot.

    2. You can only pick players who are currently still playing.

    3. You aren't penalized for Jerry's wild hairs. You get all the picks Dallas should have had over that time at their shoulda-been spots.

    4. No compensatory picks.

    5. You can't move a player up more than 1 round. No taking the cream of a 5th, 6th, 7th round crop and spreading them out through all your picks.....if that's even possible. You can take a guy picked in the 6th round as high up as the 5th round.

    6. Should go without saying, no taking a player who was gone before Dallas' pick.

Have at it. I feel bad no supplying mine in the first post but I just thought of it and can't spend time on it. I'll get mine in probably in the next few days when things slow down..........or I'll just let this thread die if it looks like it sucks.

It seems that you're saying what-if "Jerry & Company" didn't make any trades.

The following are the draft picks that the Cowboys would have had without any trades including the Roy Williams trade:

    2004, 22, 52, 83, 121, 144, 188, 223
    2005, 11, 42, 73, 109, 148, 184, 224
    2006, 18, 49, 80, 116, 150, 186, 224
    2007, 22, 53, 87, 122, 159, 200, 234
    2008, 28, 61, 92, 126, 163, 195, 235
    2009, 20, 51, 82, 117, 156, 192, 227
    2010, 27, 59, 90, 119, 158, 196, 234
    2011, 9, 40, 71, 110, 143, 176, *213 or Josh Brent

Here is my re-draft based on the Cowboys original draft pick slots without any trades. The 2012 1st round pick would be #14. The assumption at #14 is that Claiborne was selected at #6.

/ Indicates multiple options at a specific pick. My final decision might be influenced by the exact roster at the time.

    2004

    22 Stephen Jackson
    52 Darnell Dockett
    83 Sean Locklear/Matt Schaub/Shaun Phillips
    121 Jared Allen
    144 Michael Turner
    188 Andy Lee
    223 Scott Wells

    2005

    11 DeMarcus Ware
    42 Vincent Jackson
    73 Justin Tuck
    109 Darren Sproles
    148 Geoff Hangartner
    184 Chris Myers
    224 Jay Ratliff

    2006

    18 Nick Mangold
    49 Maurice Jones-Drew/Greg Jennings

    150 Chris Kuper
    186 Antoine Bethea†/Cortland Finnegan†
    224 Marques Colston
