Post famous quotes or just interesting quotes. If you can list who said it and where it's from.

The reason for starting this is because many quotes are quite powerful in their affect. Even if it's only laughter that it evokes.

I will start with a recent one.

    One of my favs

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.
    Delicious Ambiguity.
    — Gilda Radner

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

"Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, and I'm going to be happy in it." - Groucho Marx

Hope is passion for what is possible. -Soren Kierkegaard

A lot of nerds aren't aware they're nerds. A geek has thrown his hands up to the universe and gone, "I speak Klingon — who am I fooling? You win! I'm just gonna openly like what I like." Geeks tend to be a little happier with themselves. - Patton Oswalt

Saving one animal won't change the world, but surely the world will change for that one animal. - Lots of animal advocates, including me

If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men. - St. Francis of Assisi

As a general comment on baseball: "90% of the game is half mental."

On why he no longer went to Ruggeri's, a St. Louis restaurant: "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

"It ain't over till it's over." In July 1973, when Berra's Mets trailed the Chicago Cubs by 9½ games in the National League East; the Mets rallied to win the division title on the penultimate day of the season.

When giving directions to Joe Garagiola to his New Jersey home, which is accessible by two routes: "When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

On being the guest of honor at an awards banquet: "Thank you for making this day necessary."

"It's déjà vu all over again". Berra explained that this quote originated when he witnessed Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris repeatedly hit back to back home runs in the Yankees' seasons in the early 1960s.

"You can observe a lot by watching."

"Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours."

Responding to a question about remarks attributed to him that he did not
think were his: "I really didn't say everything I said!"

    -Yogi Berra
