    Romo isn't going anywhere until Jerry gets what he wants for Romo. If that means Romo stays and backs up Dak until the right offer comes along then that is what will happen. Meanwhile, who knows... Dak could get hurt and Romo will save the day. It doesn't matter what Prescott wants, or what the coaching staff needs or what Tony will accept. This is about what Jerry wants. Jerry values Romo too much to send him to another team at a discounted price.

    The Cowboys can't threaten to keep Romo when their own goal is to get his contract off their books.

    They can't play hardball with other teams, because they all know this. Nothing they can realistically do will fool anyone. THE COWBOYS want Romo gone, so the Cowboys logically can't threaten to keep him, can they?

    They can't really play hardball with Romo, because he knows this, too. When your "threat" is to pay the other party in the negotiation a giant pile of money that you really need to spend elsewhere, that's not really a threat, now is it?

    Getting something for him in a trade is NICE. Getting his contract off their books is IMPORTANT.

    Nice != important.

    Did Jerry say their goal is to get his contract off the books? No he did not. Your premise is a non sequitur. It's like a house of cards that collapses because it's supporting structure can't hold up to the weight of scrutiny.

    If you personally want Romo's contract off the books then fine. If you are reading about how that would be a great thing to do, okay. I understand all that, but DO NOT confuse that with what Jerry Jones has said or is doing.

    But YOU have your finger on the pulse of what Jerry REALLY thinks, right?

    LOL

    You are assuming that the Cowboys goal is to get Romo's contract off the books. No one with the team has ever said that.

    "The Cowboys want Romo gone, so the Cowboys logically can't threaten to keep him, can they?" Yes they can. They aren't in a position where they have to get rid of him.

    I dont think he is that fragile, and it was more than bump's that knocked him out before.
    If the cowboys played him his value would go up.

    Probably afraid to play him...he could get injured again. It was surprising, to me, that ole Jerry boy didn't force Garrett to put him in after he was healthy last season.
