No idea, but intriguing question so I had to look it up. This is what I found:

Staubach's moving eulogy stood in sharp contrast to White's at this afternoon's public service at the Meyerson Symphony Center. White, who eventually became one of the most popular Cowboys of all-time, wore boots with his blue suit today as he recalled how his first training camp began with Landry beating him in the team's required mile run.

White then had dozens of Landry's former players and assistant coaches roaring with laughter when he said: "I was so intimidated by him that whenever he'd ask a question, all I could do was grab the table and say, 'Grrrrrr.' Even when I knew the answer, I couldn't get it out. I think it was a long time before he knew I could make a complete sentence."

    :)

Correct. Landry out-running the rookie in his initial Landry Mile was the story I was looking for, but I had not heard the story about White being so scared he mumbled for much of training camp -- good one!

Oh and "google is your friend" so don't hesitate to use it when necessary. Most of my questions come from google anyway!

    Robert Newhouse?

    Tony Dorsett?

LOL, this is a tough one because it all depends on which position the official depth chart had them listed. In the cases of Newhouse, Laidlaw and Dennison, each played both fullback and RB. Often it was just a matter of what play was called and who the personnel was at the time.

Laidlaw was a fullback, playing behind Robert Newhouse.

Correct, which earned him the nickname "Defender of the Star". Miami released him when they signed free agent Brock Marion from the Cowboys. The Cowboys in turn signed him to fill Marion's vacated spot.
