Alternate title: "3 Reasons why Goverment Can't Run Anything"

Just saying, pointing out government's foibles in other areas is a weak argument against using government in healthcare.

I think it would be interesting if we put the Government in charge of regulating malpractice insurance. They could set up a tax fund that all Doctors could pay into and then, every time somebody files a lawsuite, they could deal directly with the Government.

When Newt left office, didn't we have a 500 billion surplus instead of a deficit?

Good idea. Give everyone their money back and let the free market work.

Unfortunately like most Government programs once you put them in place you are pretty much stuck with it. I wish there was a simple way to rid ourselves of Government ran Medicare but that horse left the barn that does not mean I want to see part 2 of the Government health care and even more Government control and mismanagement. They promise you everything and deliver very little at a very high cost.

Aye. And that reasoning would at least make sense. However, I think you'd find that Mr. Gingrich would never do anything as politically dangerous as threaten seniors their healthcare. Government already runs parts of the healthcare system, mostly because they feel (as a matter of principle) that there is a societal component to healthcare. That the free market doesn't effectively take care of everyone as far as healthcare is concerned.

My whole point is that his reasoning doesn't pass a certain point of rationality.

Well what you call unreasonable others would call just facing reality.

    Newt Gingrich, huh? Do tell.

Another cookie-cutter Republican pol takes the low road ... so many wild claims - so few substantiating facts.

Keep parading out the trademark fear-mongering, lies, and other various forms of non-constructive garbage, Repukes. Your 'Party of No' never fails to disappoint...
