I scoured the web and through this together. Some of this info was provided by zrinkill Some tidbits on the "young candidates" SARAH PALIN Palins was the mayor of a town in Alaska which, by the most conservative figure, has a population of 5,000. She is currently the governor of a state with a population of 600,000. Palin took on the incumbent from her own party and won. She actually was mayor and Governor and actually did the job. She fought corruption and at times opposed her own party something Barak did not do to the corrupt Daily machine She has managed a business, been a mayor for ten years, and a governor for 2. She has two years leading a state. Palin can speak without a teleprompter, is anti-corruption doesn't have vested interests in other countries and other agendas to promote like obama. She actually was mayor and Governor and actually did the job. She fought corruption and at times opposed her own party something Barak did not do to the corrupt Daily machine She lead a City She lead a State She issued a budget She vetoed bills She commanded the National Guard She dealt with Natural Disasters She had dealings with a Foreign Nation (Canada) She pushed through a 26 Billion dollar pipeline deal for her state that had been in limbo for 30 years. Sarah Palin does have more executive experience than Obama and Biden put together. Sarah Palin also has more credited accomplishments than Obama. She has executive experience. More governor's are elected to office than senators. She is not of the establishment of Washington. She dealt with foreign nation in Canada. Sarah has had executive responsibility for a municipality and the largest State in the Union... Governors are required to live within budgets that are set by legislatures. They are ultimately responsible for the legislation that does become law in their state. They are managers as well. They work with several departments and areas of Government to get things done. Governors have to work with their legislatures in both parties for the betterment of their state. Face it, regardless of the state, a Governor has many of the same duties and responsibilities as a President. The same things apply to Mayors as well. BARAK OBAMA Obama has been in the Senate for four years and the State Senate in Illinois for seven years BUT has NEVER had EXECUTIVE responsibility for ANY GOVERNMENT - big or small... Obama was president of the Harvard Law Review, which had 80 members. Obama took on Alan Keyes (for whom most republicans won't vote) in a liberal state. Keyes only had 3 months to campaign. Barak ran for the president almost from the start and voted mostly present to hide his actual positions. Obama has has less than a year on the Senate before he started campaigning. Obama cozied up to corruption for home loans. Obama has co-sponsored Bills on Health Care Obama has co-sponsored Bills on Environmental Issues Obama has co-sponsored Bills on poverty Obama has co-sponsored Bills on Education I would love to know whats what on this list - true or false? I would love to ADD FACTS so WE know what the deal is.... cant get it from the media.
