It's all what you consider a bad Cowboy.

He embraced the Cowboys and there are/were alot of Cowboy fans who liked him. We even sent a few kids to his football camps.

The issue is his off-field presence on the team became bigger than his production on the field, and overall he was just annoying. Everytime he had an issue, he ran to a camera to share. He might have a valid reason for almost everything he said or did, but it got real old, real fast. And then when he tried to stay out of the media, he still was part of every story being written.

Everything he ever did or say was done to elevate himself and not the team. I hate the phrase, "shut up and play," but I truly believe if he had done more of that, then he might have stuck around.

WG, First off, I can't believe that I spelled "won" wrong. :bang2:

Anyways. So he was expected to not promote himself on "America's Team" ?
It's a different media exposure than the old days. Same as the Cowboys have high ratings within the network exposure...it's because many people root against them also.

Ehhh...I am not a TO fan, but I think he brought the noise with a younger Romo and solid Witten. The D was overrated then, as it is now.

If Owens had a ring while in Dallas..he would be in the ring of fame. As it is he is in the HOF (A lock).

You mean the Cowboys Ring of Honor? Nah, I'd have to say no to that thought process.

I had no issue with him promoting himself. Players have short careers and should maximize their exposure. However, there's promoting yourself with endorsements and whatnot. It's constantly doing interviews just to show you're really not a bad person, but in the process you're throwing your OC under the bus or throwing your teammates under the bus.

    That's not self-promotion, that's divisive.

He did more than Miles Austin and Dez Bryant combined.

Racking up stats don't make you a good Cowboy.

That said, the stories for Miles and Dez in a Cowboys uniform is still being written.

TO was here how long? 3 years right? He did more in his 3 years than both Miles and Dez.

And imagine if he could've just kept his mouth closed, how much more he could've contributed to the Cowboys.

Alas, he's begging for jobs on twitter...

No matter how much he ran his mouth, the guy produced on the field and he was the last true deep threat this team has had.

The problem is it was his mouth that ran him out of town, not his production on the field.

Can't argue with you on that, I just didn't see him as being a "bad cowboy."

Good job ESPN. Seems as though they've been hiring worse and worse former players.

    :lmao: Almost forgot about that...

    Nah, not even close.

Yeah, too bad he didnt just "get it".

But, he was tired of the same things that we are tired of today. The team fails when it should excel.
