Most of the Free Polish units fought in Holland as well. Never knew there was a Polish Armored Division- those units were disbanded right after the war and most of them never went home due to the Russian occupation. ANd of course it was a realcrime what was done to Sosabowski. But the poles did a lot in Holland as well.

Canadian, you once again show your susceptibility to liberal BS. GW is not dumb ; you do not graduate from an Ivy League school if you are. Heere is a link comparing Gore and BUsh at college

Kerry averaged a 76 in college- very little more then Bush did.

NO, you said "China is going to pass you and leave you in its dust".

China has a boatload of their own problems. Besides, the USA won't be done in by ANY country, without that country and most likely most of the globe being done in as well. You think we will let China(or anyone else for that matter) destroy this country without unleashing our own bombs? I think the ants and elephants are in your head.

If China keeps on its present course of arming and upgrading their military, it could get very ugly. Right now they are no real threat to the US, but if they keep at the present pace for another 10 years....

Dakota, you assume leaving someone in its dust means a war. I specifically stated there would not be a war because both countries would be destroyed. However, if it were landwar, you would lose by sheer numbers.

China's economy is growing at an enormous rate even with all the recalled toys. It isn't Mao's China any more.

Going to an Ivy League college because your daddy did hardly means you are smart. He cannot even use proper sentence structure nor verbage. He is smarter than Reagan but that isn't saying much.

That's some staunch revisionism over your War of 1812, never mind John Paul Jones fighting back the Canadian mercenaries in the British fleets on the Great Lakes, never mind the the Battle of New Orleans is considered one of the most lopsided victories in world military HISTORY.

Yes an invasion force did torch much of Washington and a seemingly providential hurricane snuffed out the flames and corralled a large portion of the British army, I assume this same one you post bragging rights toward.

Hardly a feather in Canadian lore although admittedly on the world stage Canada has little to say of consequence.

The Boer Wars helped establish apartheid so congratulations on that one.

As far as the largely symbolic gesture of Canadian "peace keepers" the world over, well you already now NYC has a larger police force than your entire military, what's with the American made weaponry your soldiers carry eh?

Fantastic post Aikbach. very well done. My only complaint is......you beat me to it. Bastid!!:)

    To CCF:
Let's not forget that they were first in Korea, until we had to come and bail them out. What happened to you guys when the US showed up? Freed Holland? I'm sure the polish folks appreciate you stealing all the glory. You did so well in the big wars we had to come in and save you again making it a "real" world war.
Being first in a war wins no one any accolades. It's more a way to embellish and twist facts in one's favor however shallow they may be.

You really should stop. I'm embarrassed for you.

Cool off fellas. Our Canadian neighbors, friends, and family will appreciate it. I may not agree with their Socialist policies, but I have to give them respect for standing along side our country in the fights we've been in together. So quit running down our Canadian friends. Please.

Please tell me if China invades us, or we try and invade a country with a billion+ people? I'd like to hear you break it down. There'd be no "Ground War" with China, it'd be Nuke.

"Bush's lowest marks were a 70 (of 100) in Sociology and a 71 in Economics"
If that's not a ringing endorsment for a president I don't know what is...

I'm not an unconditional Bush fan, because he's president I support him when I can although he spends too much money, however of all the things one can gripe about it is really pretty silly to try and judge someone based on what they did as a collegiate undergrad between the ages of 18 and 22.

Silly criteria, as ridiculous as voting for someone because they were a Methodist or Presbyterian.

so are you prepared to die to ensure China does not become more powerful? remember China has a large arsenal of weapons and could probably wipe out most of the USA. Getting into a nuclear war with them would be a pyrrhic victory at best.

Japan shouldn't have nuclear weapons, after all there are only supposed to be five such nations (although the US turns a blind eye to the State of Israel having such weapons) who have them, although we know India, Pakistan and South Africa also have them.

Re China not being able to hit the US, are you willing to take that chance? Now maybe those of you who live in the desert areas of the southwest might be ok, but what about the poor schmucks in Seattle, Portland, LA, San Francisco and San Diego?

Just like during the Cold War with the USSR, we must hope that there are no nihilists in power in Washington or Beijing who are willing to accept 200 million casualties/deaths to prove a point.
