After tragedy, Cowboys' Jay Ratliff inspired to 'love hard'
    By Jim Corbett, USA TODAY

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says nose tackle Jay Ratliff returned from his grandparents funeral in Hahira, Ga., inspired by their tragic, yet poignant love story.
Ratliff's grandparents, Willie and Arletha Ratliff died of smoke inhalation in a Sept. 15 house fire. Firefighters found Arletha, 74, embracing her disabled husband in his hospital bed after failing in her attempts to help the double amputee escape their bedroom.
Jones lent Ratliff's family his private jet to attend the funeral.
Willie Ratliff, 84, couldn't walk or see, but the World War II veteran passed on his fighting spirit to his two-time Pro Bowl grandson.
Ratliff's transformation from hurting to proud moved Jones when the men spoke. Ratliff played in the Cowboys' Sept. 19 loss to the Chicago Bears, paying tribute to his grandparents' legacy of "loving hard."......

That is the kind of love and commitment that you do not see much of anymore sadly.
