Jason Garrett to Cowboys: Football is supposed to be hard

If there's one thing Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett will be known for during his tenure with the team, it's that he won't be a pushover to the players.

Garrett, who has ushered in an era of increased responsibility since relieving Wade Phillips on Nov. 8, said this week that tough and at times-uncomfortable conditions for players will be a hallmark of his tenure.

Man, this team needed this after Wade Phillips reign of soft, cuddly, fluffy, happy candy land of a world.

This team needed to get tough again.

If Garrett finds a way to consistently motivate this team before each upcoming game & they play hard for him, keep their mistakes to a minimum & play smart football, he's got a chance to be our HC for 2011.

Like everything Garrett has done so far particularly getting them in pads every Wednesday. He's also making sure they understand/accept that football is a very tough/demanding game.

Tomorrow we will see whether these players continue to play tough & hard with minimal mistakes. Lions are 2-7 just like the Cowboys. We all believe we have better talent so we should expect/demand this team finally play at the highest level possible whether it's the Lions, Saints, Colts, etc.

There's no doubt we've got some weaknesses which must be corrected in 2001 through the draft and in FA--depending on what happens to contract negotiations. We all know an upgrade at several positions on the OL is necessary along with our secondary, DL & LB core. Don't understand why just about every defensive area needs be upgraded.
