What is it that you see in this man to make you believe that he can head America is the right direction?

Is it more voting against McCain?
    Voting just Dem. ?

I just wondering, because if you take out all the BS in the election...the name calling, the racial slurs, the Muslim aspect, and just get down to the basics, what is it that you see?

EDIT (Title should say Why vote for Obama) sorry!!

I think they see Hope and Change.

But that's if you take out the racist thing, the name calling and the clinging to guns and the Bible thing.

Oh wait, you wanted to get down to the basics.

Well there would be nothing then.

    I like his social policies.

And if our government is going to be spending money out the rear, and both parties are guilty of this, I'd rather them spend it on useful things like healthcare.

I also think of him as very intelligent, even-tempered, and he will surround himself in people of both parties.

I'm a socialistic radical-Muslim terrorist, so we kind of see eye to eye.

    Any more answers out there??

It's all fun to argue red vs. blue and to disagree, but I'm still waiting on some real reasons why someone should vote for Obama.

What has he done in the past that gives your confidence he can handle the job of being President of the most powerful country in the world?

Just because you don't like his policies doesn't mean he isn't a good reason to vote for him. Every family needs are different. I can't say what is best for your family and you can't say what is best for mine.

That being said, I agree with his healthcare plan and education plan. I am looking for change. The last 8 years haven't been kind to my family. My policies or belief system lies more with Obama then McCain.

I like some of his protectionist ideas. Not because I think its always the best medicine, but with consumer confidence in the dumps, Americans are looking for some domestic assurance against the winds of 21st century global capitalism. Think of it as taking 1 step back to be able to take baby steps in the future.

McCain's prescription for more of the same (free trade, job retraining and the like) just isn't what the majority of Americans want to hear right now, even if free trade is ultimately the long term solution.

What the majority of Americans want to hear right now is that they are getting a thousand bucks back in the form of a check, for nothing. Nothing is for free and that goes for the thousand bucks. Of course, you can make the point that the thousand is also not for free and it will be paid by the top 5 % but that's not really true either.

Change for the sake of changing is very dangerous. I've heard so many voters say that Mr. Obama has a plan and McCain does not. Well, I ask, how many people have actually looked at the plan? Nobody asks how all of this gets done. Everybody just wants it done. The reality is that anybody can say anything to get elected but that doesn't mean it's good for the Country. I have grave concerns that Americans are too busy staring at the Shinny objects and not looking for the substance.

I'm open to being convinced but that's gotta start soon.

Because he is a sexy beast.

That and he graduated magna cum lade from Harvard Law School, which probably means he has an IQ that is genius or at least approaches it. As oppose to McCain who graduated 895 out of 899 people at the Naval Academy, a school he got into only because his father and grandfather were admirals.

See I'm sick of retards running this country. I want someone who is smarter than the vast majority of the nation running the country. So essentially I am voting based on intelligence.

I have said this before and even started a thread about it.

George Washington was against the Party system. It divides people

NOTHING gets accomplished or very little during a presidents term.

I literally laugh at the passion for one candidate or another. Its a fools game.

    Whoever wins - we lose.

I cant wait for it to be over... because after the initial "historic victory" then people will settle down and forget about it.

WE will not benefit from either. 2nd verse, same as the first.

Obama is notorious for NEVER even considering crossing party lines.
    Get real.

As my vote, well we have a closeted lib vs a socialist with scary friends.
