Yeah, you can one click from the tiles for desktop view.

I hated it at first, but once you get the layout and how everything works it isn't a big deal.

Desktop view and my desktop view are different. Getting Win8 to basically appear and function like Wins7 w/ start menu etc is what I was refering to.

Saying that. I will not be upgrading to Win8 anytime soon. :)

I am still stuck with Winxp.

We have a few computers at work with Win7 and they seem to be ok but I am so used to the old system that some of the simplest things seem to be a pain in the but to do in Win7 (mostly network stuff).

But at least none of it is as bad as Windows ME or Windows Vista was with network stuff...I think WinME was the worst.

Yep, good points. I think maybe the reason it isn't frustrating me is cuz I don't really use "all" the functions. But even the stuff I do use, it annoyed me till I figured it out. Now it's no big deal.

Yes you can. Sort of. But not really.

Yeah that's how I use it. Though I'm starting to use that view less and less.

Very true. Yeah you get desktop view, but no start button (which I always hated anyway).

I dunno, the more I use it the more I like it.
