Don't worry about defenses, a few teams always come out of the woodwork and do good. They're harder to try and pin then positions.

I think fabtasy stats are more skewed for team defense than any other position. A team with a solid defense that doesn't give up many points isn't as good as one that gambles a lot and gets some turnovers and defensive touchdowns but also gives up big plays. The Bengals of last year are a good example of the latter, they were one of the best fantasy defenses but were bellow average in real life.

Bob hit it on the head. We were not a team that caused alot of turnovers nor did we score alot of touchdowns. Go look at the Tennessee Titans and they scored ALOT more points in fantasy than we did. Was their defense better than ours? Nope.

In my current 10 team league no one has the Dallas D. I have Seattle.

I would think a large part of the FF defensive rankings are based upon matchups,,, and our schedule is brutal.... Chicago's schedule is a freaking cakewalk compared to Dallas',,,

    @ Packers
    vs. Lions
    @ Vikings
    vs. Seahawks
    vs. Bills
    @ Cardinals
    vs. 49ers
    vs. Dolphins
    @ Giants
    @ Jets
    @ Patriots
    vs. Vikings
    @ Rams
    vs. Bucs
    @ Lions
    vs. Packers

This isn't that far off reality (For Fantasy purposes). It depends on how the league scores points. I don't see a lot of TD's coming from our special teams. Our D will score some TD's but not as many as others.

For yards and points against we will be top 5.

Like some have already said, fantasy defense is compeltely different than actual team defense in the NFL. Most fantasy leagues don't count yards against into their scoring system. It's more based on turnovers, sacks, and points scored for and against. So in recent years, the Colts for instance, have been a top 10 defense because they get a lot of sacks, cause a lot of turnovers, and turn those turnovers into scores for the defense.

I personally enjoy this as a yahoo fantasy football player. I am able to pick up the Dallas D in the last round almost every draft, which potentially could be a tremendous steal.
