Reminds me of the old joke:

“What do the Dallas Cowboys and Billy Graham have in common?”

They both cause a stadium of 90,000 people to stand up and say Jesus Christ!

Lol. You ok?!
Good question. Reading or hearing monthly (and sometimes daily) demonizing of Jerry Jones over financial and economic capitalistic realities can get tiresome after a quarter of a century.

Any rationally conceived, organized large-scale action to negatively impact Jones' multi-billion dollar machine vanished decades ago. And blanket fan versus fan fingerpointing filled the void of inaction.

It is always the same-old same-old. Someone does a story on the Jones money making machine. It is totally expected Jones' money making machine is performing well before anyone reads or hears what the story states. So, some people, who self-identify as blameless, automatically blame other people for Jones' money making machine while not really doing jack <expletive> themselves to 'do something' about Jones' money making machine. Yes, reasons are expressed that are held as personal badges of honor when, in the real world, the explanations are as intangible in substance as labels of fault thrown at any and all fellow fans of the exact same franchise.

It is all just useless misplaced animosity that keeps going and going and going and...

Basically why Jerry the GM and Jerry the owner don’t match. Making money at mediocre works
well seems lie this is a fan issue , if they keep filling seats why would jerry be unhappy.. if they want him gone as owner and gm, make the stadium HALF empty every week , have blackouts and picket the ATT and STAR all year for jerry to step down and sell..

if not why wouldn't he keep raking in money, hes in a business to make money and its not like he doesnt spend it, the facilities are top notch, he signs his players to big deals and spends money on coaches 19-20 size staff etc..

sometimes Players and coaches dont meet expectations for a NFCCG or a Sb the last 25 years but we are competitive and hes tried too put the talent on the field to get it done..

all these complaints to this narrative as if he hasn't cared or tried hard to make it the best he can.. Garett maybe should have been gone in 2015 but well 2016 happened and it got him a reprieve after 2017 I was thinking for sure he should have been let go than makes that 2018 comeback and a 2nd round game in the playoffs.. its extended the inevitable..

People watch the Cowboys on tv but then get mad at the people that attend the games? I don't get it...
^This.

On one hand, there is the simplistic viewpoint that someone opened their wallet and bought a ticket, apparel, etc. They know those purchases translates into financial gain for Jones and they are correct. On the other hand, there is the ignored perspective that Jones (and any other business owner) gains revenue via advertising, paid by advertisers, who validate cost of advertising in direct relation to the expected targeted television audience.

Worse, some people focus their negativity primarily at Jones' Dallas Cowboys money making machine, while minimizing or completely ignoring his non-football ventures profiting him in hundreds of millions of dollars. Jones' total wealth is not simply football based BUT football fans are antagonistic towards other football fans solely due to what they see is football only sources.

I have shook my head at the madness for decades now.

I attended only one game in the 2019 season and it wasn't even a home game. I sold my season tickets to vacation in New England with friends and watch the Pats game. I hadn't attended an away game in a long time and thought that would be a good one. Boy was I wrong.

It isn't even close how the Cowboys have an advantage over other teams on filling their seats. They truly are America's team.

I’ve always found it amusing fans willingly dedicate so much of their discretionary time on a message board discussing their favorite team, yet get frustrated other fans support the team at the stadium.

Seems to me when a person gets to that point, it would behoove them to find a hobby a little less stressful.
No doubt. It amazes me how many of our posters really don’t like our team.

One theory I have is that they are old and never changed their football mind after their peak era.

Their fandom froze in time and everything that came after is only fit for ridicule and scorn. They’re rigid and brittle and their words to live by are “back in my day”.

There’s a certain element of band wagoner there as well because they are almost *always” fans of the Staubach or Aikman eras.

Here, you see the same names, posting the same negative and cynical comments in thread after thread.

They’re like psychic vampires who can’t ever really be happy but they get what passes for satisfaction when they make others as miserable as they are.

I’ve been a message board junkie for many years, sports, cars, online games, etc. and been a mod on more than a few, but this board really has more than its fair share of that type of bad poster. For what should be such a fun place, you really have to work at it.

That’s what ignore is made for though.
