Just get it over with already.

I'm tired of watching this team drag their feet on contracts. Especially for Dak Prescott when his already bad projected contract is going to get worse as time goes on.

It will be nice to know how long the deal is so I can know when we have a shot at winning a Superbowl again.

year 1 of contract will be his lowest cap hit, so keep the light flickering one more year.

Story and video of his segment here.

Alright, what do you guys think happens? I think it ends up a franchise tag.

I'm sticking with my prediction.

I think the contract will be a shorter one than many expect, because Dak and his agent want to get to that new CBA money as soon as they can.

3-years, $100 million, with probably $65 - $75 million of it guaranteed. Essentially, a two-year deal with the 'club option' for year three.

Well, when Slater confirms this news, it's probably a sure bet.

Now, whether they get it done (before 3/10) is another matter. I'm not holding my breath.

Well, we've been waiting 25 years. What's another 10?

Think we'll have one of those commemorative 25th anniversary logos on the jerseys this year?

I actually hope it's a very short deal.

I think the Cowboys want to lock him up long term but the sooner we can get away from paying elite prices for mediocrity the better.

Maybe 3 years from now when his athleticism starts to diminish and he is more reliant on his throwing ability the team will move on or he will be so cheap that it won't matter if we extend.

I definitely think that they would like to, but he and his agent want to get to that next deal as soon as they can, once the new CBA has the salary cap exploding. By that point, $35 million a year for a quarterback will be a bargain.

Sorry, but I don't think "mediocre" is an honest assessment of Prescott's 2019 season.

Or maybe he's won a Super Bowl by then and we're all happy to pay him even bigger money?

I was thinking 4 year and 140 million. Most guaranteed and nice signing bonus. Basically a 3 year deal. He will be the highest paid for a second until mahomes signs.

Pretty good numbers there, but I think the Cowboys want more term.

Not that they'll get their way, but doing 4 years means giving Dak something like 5 x 250 when he's 31 next time. This is why the Cowboys would, I think, be comfortable at something like 8 x 304 ($38m). Dak won't go for it, for obvious reasons, but the high sticker price now gives good value later.

Yeah if Dak was a Super Bowl champion I’d pay him whatever.. The damage is done and we would be champions..

The problem is we haven’t even sniffed that yet and he’s going to get paid like he has because market... Even though these other overpaid QBs at least went to the Super Bowl and in Wentz’s case his team won it so who really cares if it doesn’t work out by overpaying.

I really hate the argument when people say Dak bet on himself this year too and act like he should be proud of the season he had and he made it clear he is worth 35 mill a year lol.

Dak bet on himself and lost. He proved he is dependent on everyone around him more then ever.
