Players let the agents have free reign

They are the reasons for all this 40 million talk. I am a big Dak supporter, but right now he’s not a 40 million QB. He’s in the 32-35 range, definitely should get more than Wentz, and Goff! I heard that when negotiations go on most times the athlete is not around. They just let the agents have free reign, therefore when things stall or don’t get done or get done it’s the agents fault or success. A lot of time during negotiations the athletes do not get the truth about what’s happening until it’s over, thus why there’s a lot of agents turnover when things fall through. Sometimes the athletes will miss out on a couple of millions because they want to stay with their team, because they see what’s being built and how they are valued, they know that if they take a little less more help can be brought to the team or they just don’t want to pack up and move. But agents tell them flat out lies at times because they are thinking of themselves more than their clients, I guess you can’t blame them, they want to make a killing to. I just think GMs and Owners/FOs would come out better if they demand there be a face to face with agent and athlete in the room and the athlete actually take a hand in the negotiations and tell the agents that they work for them.

Why does this $40M price tag keep getting bandied about as if that's the agreed-upon cost to re-sign Dak? It's certainly less than that. The sticking point is the length of the contract, not the price tag. People need to stop believing everything they read and getting emotional over disinformation. That includes talking about negotiations as if they were in the room listening to what was discussed first hand. It's a dead give away we have a panicked poster when you do that.

He should be judged for on the field performance in big games like at Philly and against the Seahawks. Games that count with the season on the line.
He should also be judged for the on the field performance in big games during the entire duration of his rookie contract and not just cherry-pick games in 2019. Also, consider his career passer rating which is only exceeded by Rodgers, Wilson and Brees. What do those players get paid? There is your answer to how much Dak deserves to get paid.

it is standard procedure, for the player to not meet directly with owners gm's etc.
Doing that would be like being on trial and being your own attorney.

it isnt for us to decide what dak is worth, that is up to jones boys, and MM.
they will decide later on, and it is best to just wait and see what happens, it has nothing to do with us.
WHATEVER they decide we will have to just live with it.

best to just relax watch some xfl games, and wait for the draft and FA.

I am good with whatever they decide. I am tired of hearing about it everyday. I posted because I didn’t know that the athletes were not involved, until yesterday listening to a couple of ex players stating that they, the athletes do not in meetings. They said that if they had known what they know now they would have sacrificed a few millions to stay put.

The Philly game he played w/a bad throwing shoulder, right index finger & left wrist. Moore benched our two top wr's on the last play of the game with the division crown on the line on 4th & goal. What OC DOES THAT?!

I wish at times Dak wouldn't be so tough and sit out some of these games when he's hurt so fans wouldn't be so spoiled on having him. Let them have a taste of Cooper Rush before being so critical on our starter.

Speaking of Seahawks, did we forget he beat them the season prior making the playoffs?! Let's give credit when/where it's due.

Agents don’t lie to clients or they wouldn’t have any clients. Dak and his agent have discussed the value and years they are looking for and it’s the agents job to get a close as possible .

Agents make 3% and they don’t get paid until a contract is signed so agents are as interested in getting a contract done as the player.

The owners can't "demand" such a thing. Certified agents are legal representatives of the player unless/until the agent or the player terminates that agreement.

Greedy owners wanted the salary cap to protect their huge bottom lines. This is the system they negotiated with the Players Association.

Meanwhile, the owners have lawyers on staff. Most players would get taken to the cleaners if they represented themselves.
If they're trying to break the bank but I think the teams initial offer would be pretty close to fair market value.

The problem lies when your production places you in the 10-15 area but you want to be paid like your a top 3..........which is exactly what we're seeing with Dak.

Makes me think of the Seinfeld episode when Kramer gets burned by the coffee and him and his lawyer go in to meet the Company.

Company is prepared to give him 50k and free coffee for life

They start with "we will give you free coffee for life" Kramer says "deal" before they can offer the 50K

Apparently they do according to some ex players, Ajman Green being one of the athletes that was saying if he knew the real deal , he would have stayed in Green Bay instead of heading to Houston
