Good for him. I still think that ole boy said something that was worthy of getting smashed in the head over.

if he did then Mason should get discipline, but even if he did...it in NO WAY justifies getting smashed in the head with a helmet. Garrett should miss min of 16 games total. So someone says something offensive and that justifies violence? That’s essentially Garrett’s argument. If that’s the case, is it true in reverse also?
I do think his race card is working in his favor....if it’s not true then he needs a lifetime ban but afraid we will never know. I actually find it hard to believe Mason would’ve said that, he would’ve been offending his own players too, who would’ve heard it.

Myles should just of kept quiet post reinstatement.

Mason is a nobody but the NFL couldn't find any evidence of him saying it.
Not a peep. Not like they are protecting Brady-Rodgers-Manning from bad press as Mason is a scrub QB at this time.

I think they found no evidence of him saying it because he probably didn't. If he did say it and I were Myles Garrett, I would have been repeating that story over and over and over. I wouldn't let it disappear from the headlines. That isn't what Garrett did. He meekly suggested it was said once and then let it go almost as if he had no conviction that it ever truly occurred. Garrett should have plenty of career to atone for this bad look. Suspension is over and he can move forward.

Garrett has a history, let's not assume something was said, like Garrett said when the timing was most convenient. Don't take this as me defending Rudolph, but there's no defending Garrett's actions.

Do y'all not remember Mason trying to take Garrett's helmet off first? Garrett just returned the favor and Mason should have just piped down at that point but then made a run at Garrett. Not justifying hitting him with a helmet but don't start none, won't be none.

Myles should've hired Zeke's girlfriend to say he said it; then Goodell would've believed it!

Mason felt he was hit late and took it personally when Garrett had him pinned to the ground.

As a Texas Aggie, I've had the opportunity to meet a number of professional basketball and football players from A&M.

Von Miller and Ray Childress are my absolute favorites. Articulate, affable, friendly with a dose of humble. Interestingly enough, Myles Garrett is one of my favorites as well.

Admittedly, you can't "know" someone from a causal encounter. You can, however, get a sense of their personality.

While I am not excusing Garrett's behavior in any way, I am still shocked by the violence of his act. It seems so incongruent with the young man I met.

Everyone acts differently in the heat of a moment. I truly believe that's what happened to Garrett when he was called the "N" word by Mason.

The hit definitely wasn't late. Garrett was there within inches of Rudolph releasing the ball. Whether Garrett saw the ball come out or not is the debatable part because Rudolph appeared to quickly sidearm it around Garrett's head to avoid the sack. So Garrett held on and took him to the ground which, being there within one step, is a legal play. Watch the 2 replays starting at 1:25, particularly the 2nd replay they show. You actually see Garrett about to throw a punch and then instead just go for the helmet before Rudolph goes chasing him as he's being restrained by a peacemaker.

It wasn't late? Dude, the ball was released and he spun him around and slammed him on the ground long after the ball was out of his hands. What the hell are you even talking about? LOL

He was also fined for unnecessary roughness

There was no flag on the play for a late hit because it wasn't late as YOU said Rudolph "felt" it was. But I showed you the video. It clearly wasn't late by the ref on the field. It's within the guidelines of a rule you probably don't even know. And if that's what you call "slammed" to the ground then maybe you're too used to flag football. That was as gentle a put down as you'll see in the NFL. Shoves are harder landings for QBs than that. The NFL piled on the unnecessary roughness fine, IMO which one could debate but no flag was going to be thrown on that play until Rudolph "objected." Video is powerless against agenda once again. I do try though, lol.

It amazes me how anyone can watch that and try to justify Garrett.

I guess you have to actually kill someone to get a 1 year suspension.

Don't know if you're talking about me, especially since I have a post here that literally states, "Not justifying hitting him with a helmet ..." but what I am doing is detailing what actually happened to challenge emotional, inaccurate pile-on accusations of Garrett because they found what he did reprehensible. There was talk of a late hit but it clearly wasn't late and within the rules. Then there was talk of "slamming" Rudolph to the ground which kinda can't happen when Rudolph actually landed on top of Garrett as they softly hit the ground. A person can rightfully be "outraged" without adding inaccuracies to pad their case. Give me the truth of the matter instead of emotional drama.
