That's a theory you have no way of proving and I admittedly have no way of disproving.
It's already been proven. NE.

Mahomes is at present playing for a huge discount. That allowed KC to pick up Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu, Sammy Watkins, Anthony Hitchens, Alex Okafor, Kendall Fuller, Reggie Ragland, Emmanual Ogbah, Cam Erving, Mitchell Schwartz, Damien Wilson.
W/o those players, KC does not win the super bowl.

Russell Wilson has not sniffed a super bowl after getting paid.

Neither has Eli or Flacco.

There is a ton of proof, but if your own agenda is more important to you than facts, you won't see it.

When the Patriots were at their best ie Brady age 26-31 he was not taking the paycut he did these last 6 years.
Yes, he did. His highest salary was 2006 at 6 mill, and he took restructures to keep the team around him. Your info is incorrect.

Using the MVP as an attempt to bolster your position is extremely weak. Eli was MVP in 07, and he wasn't even close to being the MVP. SO, your MVP argument is nothing but a narration for your opinion!!!
Eli played at an Elite level in playoff run and Super Bowl much like Foles did a couple years ago. SB MVP doesn’t mean they’re an Elite QB.

And I believe Mahomes is Elite as well. As he was also MVP of the league last year which is a much better definition of Elite over a season instead of one game.

Also, winning matters at the highest level. And why so many QB’s who otherwise might not be in the HOF get in.

That's what the media fed you, but he really didn't. And he pretty much sucked in the super bowl. You simply bought into the hype.

Mahomes is elite. X 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, what do you suggest if winning is so difficult once you pay your QB?

Should we just churn the position every 4-5 years or do you commit to the guys who took you while on Rookie contract ? I’d say we are seeing what franchises think.

I’m thinking based on your argument if they aren’t enough on Rookie contract to lead us up a SB then they probably won’t be after we pay them.

I’ll hang up and listen.

It wasn’t just media hype. It was the NFL’s hype.

If we aren’t going to follow what the NFL represents then where does that leave us? Following fans hype or agendas?

Man, Gregg, I don't have answers for this. At present I haven't seen enough from Dak to pay him more than 30ish.

I've always believed you have to pay your QB. However, that was before the QB's started asking for outlandish amounts.

At this point, I'd make him one final offer around 33 mil, and then just tag him. I hate negotiating w/ someone who is not negotiating in good faith, and I feel strongly that his camp is not.

I understand but I was speaking on a broader view than just our situation with Dak.

Reality.

The NFL's reality, unfortunately, has turned to money. It's all about the QB, even if they don't deserve it. And that leaves us w/ QB MVPs most years, which leaves us w/ fiction. I refuse to buy their fiction.

I don't remember where I read it may have been a PFT article a couple of weeks ago headlining 8 of the top 10 highest paid QBs didn't even make the playoffs this past year. Outside of Rodgers and Brady a pretty young group leading their teams this year.

The Chefs are just one example. For every team that does what the Chefs did, there are several others that fail despite having a cheap rookie QB. This disproves your theory. The Cowboys have had a QB on a cheap rookie contract. They were able to pay for lots of talent they otherwise would not have. Where is their SB trophy? this is what is more typical. No trophy. Your theory is bogus.

Again I understand . But that’s the NFL’s reality.

And they will be forever labeled as MVP. Arguing that is left for social media hacks. Lol

If we can’t agree or establish what the NFL recognizes then it’s really difficult to have a basic foundation of facts .

No, it absolutely does not. That is faulty reasoning.

Forming a super bowl contending team is a jigsaw puzzle. The more quality pieces you have, the more likely it is to come together.

Man, you have to ignore a mountain of facts to come to your conclusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, that's par for your course!!!!!!

OK, look at your last sentence. You contradict yourself. It's not a fact if the NFL is calling them MVP simply due to positional importance.

And that makes the reality of falsely naming a player MVP.

KC didn't have more pieces. The team is still only allowed 53 men on the rosters and 11 men on the field at any one time. You are talking like they got to play 22 on 11 football which is ridiculous.

Tom Brady's "discount" has made everyone lose their collective minds.

Are the Chiefs just done winning Super Bowls once they pay Mahomes? No. Peyton was still the 9th-highest paid QB in the league, and he was the highest paid the year he signed that contract.

Wrong...as soon as Mahomes gets his money the team will start to lose all those other great players on the team as they leave to get their money. It's just the nature of the cap today. As soon as you pay your QB, the team starts to fall because you can't pay everyone.

IMO, we are headed for caps for positions. I really don't see any other way. Greedy agents and players have pushed the NFL this way.
I’d hope so. In the meantime what would be your advice.

If winning a SB is do difficult once a QB is paid should you pay them or continue churning. And if we couldn’t win a SB while they were on their Rookie contract wouldn’t the odds of winning one after we pay them be even less?

Yup. That is what is happening.

It's unbelievable that anyone can't see it.
