That's Cooper's fault? Letting go of a 1st rounder after 1 year is asinine.

Did I say it was only Cooper's fault? I said he didn't exactly help, so how valuable is he? Is he worth nearly $20 million?

And it doesn't MATTER what we gave up for him, that's done and over with. You don't allow a player to hang that over your head. Teams let go of their first rounders all the time. Some bust out. This is no different.

Solid point. The mistake was made when they failed to extend him early on, for whatever reason. Can't chase that mistake by possibly making another with a bad extension.

I'd be ok with letting him walk if I had confidence the team would successfully repurpose that money elsewhere - like defensive starters. Then obviously you'd have to draft a WR in either 1st or 2nd round.

Someone is going to swoop in and overpay him.

It is a joke that they didn't get him resigned after giving up a 1st for him. If this is a glimpse of what life is going to be like with Stephen, might as well get ready for another 25 years of nothing.

And it is absolute incompetence to give up a first-round pick for a WR who is 24 and not be able to get him signed long term.

Yea his age has nothing to do with it. His production (or lack thereof) does. Dude disappears too often when he’s needed most and he’s a plank of wood on the sidelines.

The Eagles game showed that he isn’t worth what he will be demanding.

Well, Amari, it was nice knowing you.

It was rather ridiculous of us trading away a 1st round pick and not locking them up shortly after. Huge fail by our FO.

I still think Cooper comes back, but if he wants more than $19 million a year, pass.

Re-sign Randall Cobb, draft CeeDee Lamb or Henry Ruggs at 17, and start them opposite Michael Gallup. Cooper wouldn't be the first example of draft capital this team has flushed away.

Booger
@ESPNBooger

With the wr class so deep in the NFL draft Amari Cooper better be careful, a lot of teams will love him with AAV of 18-19. No one will touch him at 22 AAV. NO ONE

I get what Booger is saying...he's not worth 22 AAV. But all it takes is one desperate team to jump. History has proven the early free agency period is chock full of desperate teams with money to blow. We'll see....

All those people that said it was dumb to trade a first round pick for Cooper will eventually be proven right if he walks. Because one of the reasons given for not blowing a first round pick on him was the reality that he very easily could walk in 18 months.

And here we are...........

You go Coop...let Dallas remake your credibility, and then cash in with another team. That says a strong 'thanks' for investing opportunity, salary, and a first in you...
