Ray, I’m relaxed, bro. I can ask multiple questions without high blood pressure!
I aint so lucky lol. I am an old fart I guess. I take my bp meds in the morn so when I get on here I stay relatively tame lol. Getting older sucks.

That wont work, because they want to keep dak, and dont want to have to match offers made by another team.
If some other team made a short term offer say 38 per year for 3 years, then they would have to match it or let him go.
They want dak, just not on a short term contract. They want 6-7 year contract.
So here we are on exclusive tag, which says dak isnt going anywhere.

Everything you said makes sense.....unless he doesn’t sign and holds out

Of course not, other than to aggravate me and lead us down this oft-traveled path. So maybe you should think about telling anyone else how they should think in the future?

Once again, I’m not telling anyone what to think, merely asking why. My opinion that the Cowboys’ FO is not festooned with slobbering idiots stands.

Tagged as expected. After all this time they still couldn't reach an agreement. Epic fail on both parts.

Hopefully this means a deal for Cooper is announced later this morning.

Deals get made when the deadline to make them forces a decision. We're not at that point yet.

You're sure trying to, while making unfounded, sweeping generalizations like this one:

All this board DOES is overreact! Exclusive tag...Jerry’s dumb! Non-exclusive yah...Jerry’s dumb! Trade...Jerry’s dumb! Pay him what he wants...Jerry’s dumb!....

Flirting with it? I’d say most of the fan base has had it with these negotiations and has probably already turned against Dak.

Seems odd to me that anyone is that emotionally invested in another guy's negotiations without being involved in them.

There is no shortage of criticism after every transaction or draft pick, is there not? It may be a generalization, but it’s fairly accurate. Don’t be so thin skinned.

My thing is Jerry and Co. don't actually have a plan in place. Basically trading a #1 pick for a wr that you knew was due a contract you didn't sign immediately. If you didn't want to sign him you shouldn't have traded for him. Dak should have been signed after 2018 in a down year due to wr by committee and banged up o line that played terribly. But we sign zeke and jaylon. This team is led by drunks that actually don't know wth they are doing. With 3 top guys going to hit FA we actually didn't sign any of them? lol
I feel you man. I feel you. Everything feels so haphazardly put together and out of sorts.

Dak didn't hold out when he made 2mil last year. Why would he hold out for 33mil this year?

I know I wouldn’t, but Franchise Tags seem to really be hated by many players in the league -

I get the impression many players, no matter the $$$ amount, feel it’s a slap in the face and that the team doesn’t really value you unless they sign you long-term. I know I’d sign it and you would, but we ain’t NFL players

I don't think Dak considers it a slap. He was willing to play last year for 2mil. This year under the tag it will be 33mil. I think as a QB, he just feels fine with *not* locking in money, and just letting the payscale escalate. He must have insured himself against injury last year, and can do it again this year. He's got a good 8 years of healthy play left. There's little reason for him to rush if delay will bump the payscale significantly.

Really? When is that point then? Is it July now?

I think so. Isn't July around the time limit for signing a tagged player to a contract?

I don't think that Dak even particularly *wants* a contract this year. He could have locked in a big contract last year and didn't. The contract at the beginning of last year was actually too big relative to the market.

I hope you’re right seeing they have a new HC

Save the advice. All of it. Express your opinions and let other people express theirs, whether you agree with them or not.

Yeah, a "big contract" at $25 million a year.
