I need to watch more Winfield but early impressions have been he's overhyped.

The size, for one, scares me a bit.
Size is a valid point. But his tape is better than Mckinney’s and Delpit’s IMO.

It would be meh for me.

Chaisson’s lack of production worries me and Winfield’s lack of length worries me.

His tape vs. who though? Delpit and McKinney played against some top notch teams (especially Delpit).

Both. Delpit’s tape last year was disappointing.
No I’m saying who did Minnesota play that impressed you enough to take him above two SEC studs. I watched damn near every LSU game because they were pretty much on tv every week - delpit was all over the field, kid is a stud and he won the award for #1 DB in the nation, I really don’t get the knock on him.

I don’t want Delpit or McKinney at 17 and they don’t be there in the second. Thus Winfield. If we were to trade down in the first I would change my mind

Chaisson and Winfield. I almost wouldn’t care what the rest of the draft got us
I'm still holding out hope for Kinlaw, but Chaisson is my second choice.

Winfield in the 2nd sounds fine to me.

Beef up that DT spot later.

I would take that, second best edge rusher and safety in the draft. How many int's did we get last year? Winfield is the interception king with 7 and is exactly the kind of DB they're talking about when they say we need ballhawks. Both players would come in and compete for playing time right away. Chaisson causes an errant throw and Winfield picks it giving the offense and extra possession. I think we probably address CB with one of those picks.

Don’t fool yourselves into thinking a kid with interceptions in college translates to the pros.

There was that S from Louisville a few years ago who had double digit interceptions and spit the bit in the pros.

Winfield is going to have matchup problems IMO at being only 5-9.

Woods had a ton of TO production in college

He does not have long speed, boys have to decide if his above avg quickness makes it irrelevant, not so worried about the rest, he is also a project not a finished product. That being said, the guy is a real playmaker and a real ballhawk.

Throwing this out there right now since I’m an Illini fan and watch Big-10 games: Winfield will be just as good if not better than Delpit.

Delpit does not move my meter.

I agree. Delpit is going to be a star and Dallas has a great chance to get him. That's like passing on Derwin James at 17, in my opinion

Henderson Chaisson or Delpit @17.

Arnette Okwara or Fotu @51.

He's also been hurt - and players who get injured in college get injured in the pros.

Plus, he only had one year of production, as a senior. I don't buy for one second that he's going to be any sort of playmaker in the pros.
