Go back and watch the Jets and Bills games before calling members 'mentally ill' for not believing in Dak

The eyeball test, that some use to complain about Dak, is how his passes look on the way to the receiver. He tends to throw a low arch fastball that's hard for receivers to adjust to because it gets to them so fast. And easy to drop since they don't have much time to adjust. Dak's fastballs could be a result of him taking too long to go through his progressions and seeing things a little late.

So when posters bring up the old eye test excuse I know exactly what they mean. His throws often take away a receivers run after the catch ability, especially on crossing routes. But not every QB in the league can be a Brees, or a Rodgers. Where every throw they make looks great.
:lmao:Brother, that's a long way to say that the man couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with hot dog.

lets bring up these threads late in the season when the offense is sputtering and all Dak love is silent....just waiting for one play to happen in the final minutes because all game long we got nothing.

I think Romo’s legacy hurts Dak in a few places. Particularly people just see the ‘no NFCCG’ continuation despite another highly productive QB and are getting antsy. Had you gone from Drew Henson to Dak he’d be much more appreciated.

I disagree with this strongly. People don’t hate Dak just because they don’t like him personally, they view him as a negative impact to the Cowboys’ aura. He starts compiling playoff wins and that goes out the window, doesn’t even have to win the SB. Same exact thing happened to Matt Ryan. Atlanta fans used to go nuts on him for all the 1-and-done’s, then he made and An NFCCG and then later a SB and suddenly he’s god’s gift to football.

Winning cures all ailments
Well I disagree with your disagree.

But to be fair, I would have said the same thing if we were talking about Romo during his time.

I feel like SOME Cowboys fans are not happy unless we have the best player at every position. And even then, let them not win by 50+ on any given Sunday, and the players would all be a bunch of losers. So when people EXPECT perfection, then that "aura" argument can shove it IMO.

I have no issues with statements like
  • Dak needs to work on his accuracy
  • Dak needs to improve his mechanics
  • Dak has to do a better jobs finding the open receiver
Those are all expectations that are based in reality. Buy the majority of the things we hear are:
  • Dak does not have a NFL arm / talent
  • Dak can only win if with surrounded by All-Pros
  • Dak only puts up stats against bad team and/or in "garbage time"
Those are the "off the reservation" "opinions" that are baseless IMO.

Dak is clearly an NFL caliber QB.
He, like every QB, needs help to win, but he does not need All-Pros everywhere else.
And Tom Brady's crazy stat season came in a year where they were running up the scores when they already had multiple TD leads late in games. Yet he lead a team to the largest SB upset in history and he's still great. I don't get it.

But hey, to each their own I guess.

Its pretty clear that most of these guys simply don't understand how new contracts work. And what are they really arguing about here? A few million dollars? Rogers and Wilson are getting 35 million. So a NON elite QB gets what?...………..33 million? About what Wentz and Goff are getting. So they are complain about 2 million dollars. LOL

And it hasn't even been determined yet that Dak is even getting 35 million. So its a waste of a discussion.

And lets not forget that in two years time, even if Dak gets 35 million, he will not even be in the top 5 QB salaries by then anyway. So this ELITE argument is just dumb.
Yeah, but that's a recent development. Players don't get paid on what they THINK they'll be worth in 2 years. They get paid on what they're worth now, which is where the disconnect comes in.

then he would've already been paid a ton if you look at his numbers. but we've gotten a bargain thus far. time to pay up
WE TRIED.

Geez, how many people keep overlooking our 33 mil/season contract offer before the season started? Dak and his agent turned it down.

this article is complete PR for Dak . There is no Dak Hate. There is a reality. He has good stats but whoever watches football , you know that the more you pass the more yards you will accumulate. The cowboys offense pivoted to passing in 2019 -2018 The problem Dak has is he is not accurate , gets flustered , and cannot carry a team against winning teams . His 1-6 record is abysmal despite having a top RB , OL , WR. Threre are no more excuses. Stats will not demonstrate how Dak choked in the entire half against Green Bay at home , or how he failed to score one TD in the last game against philadelphia , a team with a very weak defense. Either way, seems jerry is gonna cave and the Dak Lovers will enjoy another mediocre 3-4 years with their super star.

since the guy has proven nothing

Really, what in the heck have you been watching the past 4 years, to have not been watching also?
First off, I'm fine with paying him what he wants, there is no better alternative.

However, when it comes to winning big games, or playing well against tougher opponents on the road, well.....yep...not yet folks. Not yet.

Comes w the territory when you want to be paid more than those that HAVE done the above.

I can do exactly the same, forget the over all body of work. pick specific games, specific times or quarters of games for Brady, Rodgers, Aikman, Montana, Young, Romo, Mahomes, Brees, etc.

every and I mean every QB has bad games or less than great games.....

so how do you explain the completion percentage? YPA? and you are focused on 2019, and dismissing 2016, 17, 18

and btw, you just did what the article said exactly. cherry pick couple of things to knock Dak...hmmmm

and lets not forget the coaching craap we all put up with. how many complaints did we endure regarding Linehan and simplistic offense? how many complaints did we endure about Garrett.... what would be our record with a half decent coach? how many games did he cost us last year?

yeah, lets just forget all other factors, and focus on one or two items...dismiss everything else as non relevant except what I want to focus on...right?

The team is not trying to lock him in on the cheap. What they're offering is more than fair.

I agree w/ everthing else.

Funny thing is that you contradict yourself!!!! You're saying he isn't elite, but then at the bottom you're saying the team is trying to go cheap!!!!! Just amusing.
Misunderstanding.

I'm commenting based on reports that the team is looking for a longer term deal when he is looking for a shorter term one.

He isn't elite. That means the best of the best. Does anyone dispute that really? Seems like the prevailing sentiment is that he isnt elite so he should be paid accordingly.

I don't agree. The situation dictates that he will be the highest paid player ever....for now. Nothing wrong with doing that.

However, the team wanting a long term situation HAS to mean they want to lock him in at a number that the agents feel will be low in a few years. Otherwise, what's the hangup?
