Cowboys should have traded Ezekiel Elliott last year

I'm mistaken. It wasn't 2 years ago. Maybe ti was a year ago. Feels longer. I honestly think since signing his deal he's been quiet.
I truly hope you’re right regardless of what I said earlier. I didn’t like the signing or him personally (unrelated to each other) since draft day but I figured I’d give him a chance. Thought maybe since he was being investigated that he would tone it down and realize how serious it was and the possible repercussions not only for him but the team and fans. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Our current situation is the best thing for zeke unfortunately.

Cowboys are crying for cap space you signed Elliott last year which they shouldn't have done made him the richest running back They should have traded him away for a first-round and a multiple other picks Running backs don't last that long he's about 25 26 and that's about right when running backs start showing their age Another blunder by Jed Clampett and Jethro running this organization
Where are they crying for cap space? The only crying I see are those talking about signing Zeke...

I should have taken my stock in toilet paper and moved it to facial tissue. The crying about Zeke around here is almost Biblical in it's water works.

Some people care about winning not that a player pulled one over on Jerrah.

No...to the league and society in general. Sounds like you’re still living in the past along with the fans and Jerry who live in an early 90’s bubble while refusing to admit or acknowledge the changes in football, rules and societal standards.

Worked out real well for Zeke, didn’t it? He’s lucky he didn’t get a year long suspension, or more, for all the other things he was involved with that the league didn’t punish or investigate him for. If he played for any other team I doubt you would be so supportive, instead you would be crying about how the Cowboys always get screwed and how much he got away with.

For the record, I think his suspension was bogus but right or wrong that doesn’t excuse his other actions and the fact that he was already being investigated or had been suspended and still pulled that crap shows how dumb and irresponsible he is. He not only put himself at risk but his team as well. If you think Zeke is so important to this team I figured you would be po’d that he single handily jeopardized an entire season due to his idiocy. But nope, you and a few others, continue to paint zeke as the poor innocent victim who never does anything wrong.

I would lol if he did something else dumb to get suspended this off season, we would be fine without him and it might finally be his ticket out of Dallas.

Blah blah blah.....I could have told him what;s what. Why aren't peopel as smart as me.... blah blah blah./

Wow I just posted but you beat me to it. All the crying and whining sheesh. Do you happen to remember when we just talked football? In person? Or "hell yeah those cowboys partied they even made a movie about it.

Now..."oh..things changed he was under investigation. I hated him from the beginning. If only he had listening to ME. I could have saved him, the cowboys and corona"

The wussification of America sheesh!

Thanks for your contribution, very insightful. Now I see why you’re such a zeke fan, you have the same childish mentality and share half a brain cell.

Who doesn't care about winning? Everyone BUT you and your agreement, of course.
My agreement? Hitting mommy and daddy’s liquor cabinet again?

If you you were smart enough to understand the context in which I said it, which clearly you aren’t, you would understand what I meant snd that there are several people that agree with me including the OP of this thread and many people you’ve been arguing with.

You really should stop posting, you only expose your ignorance and make yourself look worse every time you try to use your words or come up with a thought. Just stay where you’re at, be quiet, stare at the wall and don’t move. People may actually think you have a little something going on between the ears.

A lot of people love to sound like their on the “right side of history” so that’s why you have soo many concerned with things that weren’t as big of a deal in the past. The person you quoted got real mad when I also suggested he might be jealous of Zeke making big money so he put me on ignore. I only know because like a lot of people online they have to get self important and say it like it matters lol.

Zeke should not have gotten that contract . It is perplexing now Jerry let DeMarco Murray ( had team friendly contract , super athlete and performer ) walk , and then Jerry caved to zeke .

I'm one of zeke's biggest fan...from his very first play at ohio state...an awesome special teams tackle. How many people know THAT, lol. But I didn't like the hold out nor the giant contract.

But...what to do about it NOW? Cheer him on and run him into the ground, I say!

How are you even remotely the same person that has been posting in this thread? Mind blown.

Yes, but that's what Jerry's always done. The slightest failure, he quits doing it, and the slightest success, and he overpays. Knee jerk stuff.

Not sure exactly to what you are referring to sir. Other than making sense?

Totally serious. On the now defunct "other board"....I told everyone...."watch....it's zeke". It made perfect sense...to me. His durability and especially blocking skills was one of the final pieces in Tony's offense. Welp...that didn't happen and I believe to this day much of Dak's rookie success is with Zeke.

Having said that...holding out was a beech move. And I wish Jerry would have called.

Having said THAT...I find it useless, futile, and absolutely zero fun to rehash and obsess about it. I'm cheering him and hoping he can return to form this year. If nothing else...Imma make him earn that money.

Hopefully I haven;t ruined anything with this comment. :p.

Sounds like the "victim" deserved to get pushed if he's trying to extort 500,000 from someone.......
Hey, not disagreeing, if it were you or me doing the pushing. However, we never signed a multi million dollar contract with a clause stipulating a specific code of conduct.

Im not accusing Zeke of a crime or even a lack character. Im saying he made the kind of dumb decision that "potentially" might result in the loss of his services for a period of time. Keep in mind that he should have already learned his lesson from..... making a dumb decision that resulted in the loss of his services for a period of time.

Thats a lot of money to place on a guy that supposedly learns his lesson...until the next time he does it.

timb2---- Gurley got cut and Rams are willing to eat the huge cap hit....and i agree Elliott has lost a step and looks overweight to me...i remember 2016 rookie year Elliott was not only a beast inside but fast long speed...he still is
good inside but not more quick twitch...if we would have traded Zeke got good picks we could have gotten another great running back to pair with Pollard...we did not know Pollard would turn out as good as he did as RB too...Pollard is pretty darn tough inside too plus he has speed....its just not worth paying running backs a second contract...just not worth it in my opinion unless they are generational and there are not many of those

If they trade him, the team trading for him knows he wants 15m a year. No one likely gives you a 1st for that
Aero---honestly i would have taken a 2 or 3 for Zeke ...to me unless a running back is a generational beast...and there are very few of those...just not worth paying second contract...i say use em and lose em and get another
they take so much punishment and lose speed....the generational back to me was Barry Sanders....he even after 10 years did not lose a step...and there are no barry sanders i see in this era

Very true , and many warned Jerry not to over pay . But as usual he caved . And now about to over pay a mediocre regressing Dak
base--i dont think Dak has regressed at all..in fact he overcame his inability to transfer weight from back to front foot along with hip torgue last year....he is far more improved in his throwing motion than years past
and at first i was mad at Dak for being greedy..but in 2 years NFL will be raking double amount of money from media....from 7.5-15 bnillion dollars and 47% is for the players...so Cap will be around 250-300 million a year and contracts will go through the roof....just watch...35 million a year will be middle of the pack to lower 1/3 for decent QB's...so Dak wants shorter contract so he can re-up sooner...NFL is a brutal business....they make so much coin its crazy and they are about
to double that from media
