Joey Galloway took away 2 1st rounders...fifteen years ago.

Jerry authored the Herchel Walker trade as well...

Think that Jerry doesn't full well know values of trades now?

Draft Xavier McKinney. Five years of quality play for an eighth the cost...
this^^...no way am I starting off this new coaching regime by trading away a premium pick..or picks, for 1 player that's not a QB. You just cant get off on that foot. We brought him here to put his stamp on the team, HIS PLAYERS that he drafts.

the jets want 2 or 3 high draft picks for Adams it was the issue last time.. one first and maybe a 3rd should get him but they want 2 1sts and maybe more..its clear they want to keep him..

I heard they wanted 2 2's last year, I would've done it with no hesitation

The Dallas Cowboys should go all-in to trade for all-pro Jets safety Jamal Adams this offseason. Securing Adams would be an immediate boost to the defense.
When the Dallas Cowboys were unable to finalize a trade at the deadline of this past season for New York Jets All-Pro safety Jamal Adams, there was speculation from people surrounding the organization that the topic would re-emerge in the offseason.

CowboyMaven’s Mike Fisher recently mentioned that he believes the Cowboys would be willing to offer a high draft pick in exchange for the star safety before the draft if they sense the Jets and Adams cannot reach an extension.

If the Cowboys can trade their first-round selection, the 17th overall pick, in the upcoming NFL draft for Adams, they should jump on the offer with no hesitation. The Jets originally wanted more than the Cowboys first-rounder during the season, resulting in the negotiations coming to an end. If the Jets sense they cannot reach a long-term agreement with Adams, they may be willing to lower their asking price...
I totally disagree. if the price is right and to me that's no larger than a 2nd round. I find it funny that on the one hand people complain that paying Dak, would hamper the team from reaching success. on the other hand we want to give up draft capital and then a large contract for a safety. I do think Saftey is an important position, but its not a position that will put this defense over the top. draft capital in this day and age of NFL is very valuable and very important and shouldn't be traded away lightly...

Dallas could return to trade negotiations for Adams if he’s unable to reach a long-term deal with the Jets.

I really don’t care to go all in trading for a player we may not see until next year if the season is canceled. Too much uncertainty right now to be making any big trades. You can’t meet with players or give physicals.

doing this would be very much like the amari trade, you get 1 year then have to pay them big to keep them.
and they would be in same position of having to pay whatever he wants, or lose the player and the picks you gave up to get him.
Not a smart thing unless you think this would help you win a SB this coming season, and it is a season which possibly wont happen.

I dont think it is a smart move.

The Jets would make the same argument as to why they want more than that
Absolutely

Or maybe they rather have a WR (if available) than Adams + his contract

And maybe Dallas rather have adams

That is 100% correct.

I love him as a player and think he would immediately step up and lead this defense....one which desperately needs a leader....

But they want a LOT for him. Not just a first.

I would say two firsts would probably do it.

Maybe a 1st a 3rd and Gallup.

Maybe Zack Martin and a late pick.

He isnt going to be cheap at all. Cost prohibitive in fact. They cant sell one first round pick to the fan base, who expects to contend for a WC berth this year. He is their best player.
