Garrett should have been fired after the offensive collapse of 2007.
And there's no excuse for him not being fired after 2008.
He should have been fired after opening night in Washington in 2010.
He should have been fired after the Green Bay Massacre in 2010.
He should've been fired after three consecutive 8-8 seasons in the NFC East in which one more win would've clinched the division.
He should've been fired after letting Romo throw 4 interceptions and letting Detroit come back and win after being down 24-0.
He should've been fired after icing his own kicker.
He should have.....
Well, we all saw....

I felt strongly that Jerry should have cleaned the coaching house after the divisional loss to the Giants in 2008.

He should have been fired after those 8-8 seasons. 3 in a row and all those bad losses to divisional rivals. 4-12 after the Romo injury. A complete disgrace. They had no answers on offense. He proved time and time again that he can’t coach. A total fraud. Over an decade wasted on him.

Garrett is the offensive coordinator of the Giants. He was fired this past January 5 by the Cowboys. Since then his shortcomings real or perceived have been posted over and over ad nauseam and now even selectively, chronologically documented in one overzealous post. You know those that live in faulty, toxic dry-walled houses.... What's next Garrett should never have been born - or lived past puberty?

We are in the McCarthy era now. Let's look forward to the prospect of getting into the post season more so with the possibility of winning another Super Bowl.

Garrett was Head Coach in Waiting before 2010, and actually did well taking over for Wade. It was inevitable he would be HC the day Jerry hired him *before* hiring Wade.

Absolutely. In fact, Jerry nearly hired Garrett as head coach over Wade in the first place. It was clear that he had some serious delusions about Jason Garrett for years. A picture in his head that never, ever materialized.

And over a decade wasted.

If the truth hurts you, you could always simply avoid the Garrett posts. His name is literally the first thing in the thread title.

Jerry was 7 years late firing that Turd. After 2013, there was no doubt that he was ineffective as a HC.

Heck, he didn’t even deserve the OC position in 2007!

It was one of my happier moments when that faker got ****-canned!!!

Same here, and I continue to revel in the fact. As well as rubbing it in the noses of all of the know-it-all's here who have and continue to try to make excuses for him.

With the team they had, they could have coached themselves during the season they went 12-4 and probably would have fared better.

All because of the Garrett brand of nepotism. Jim Garrett and his sons really latched onto the Jones family like a bunch of remoras.

So tell me, how is the truth hurting me? I have gone through a number of Garrett posts in here without avoiding them or making comments. I was hoping a Garrett coaching change was a near future possibility a few seasons back.

Perhaps it is hurting you to be reminded how really ridiculous it is incessantly, repetitively bashing a head coach that no longer is with the team. Hey maybe I am wrong and you feel victimized, and need to keep venting your rage for the good of mankind. Try suing the team.

The truth is Garrett deserved to go. But if you look at the succession of head coaches that have passed through the Cowboys gates after the Super Bowl 90s the real failure to regain post season form lies at the feet of general management and ownership.

Wasn’t the reason we wanted Garrett gone so we could move forward and look forward to a better future? It doesn’t seem we are doing that.

I'm not the guy crying because someone started a Garrett thread. That's you.

Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
  • This famous statement has produced many paraphrases and variants:
    • Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
    • Those who do not remember their past are condemned to repeat their mistakes.
    • Those who do not read history are doomed to repeat it.
    • Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of their predecessors are destined to repeat them.
    • Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them.

People had to put up with this clown for over a decade, nobody has to now forget about that in a few months.
