Fromm is undersized with no arm strength and poor running the ball. He is no chance to make it at NFL level.

He should be an UDFA after this draft as he is rubbish.

It’s the fourth round. I’m ready to take a backup QB and for a backup QB I want accurate, smart, high character and steady nerves. If Dak doesn’t work out, all of the qualities that make Fromm the perfect backup also make a great fit for McCarthy.

Here is Brugler’s comments this morning. He has Fromm as the best QB remaining

“Scheme specific? Yeah. Limited in areas? No doubt. But in the right situation, Fromm can be an asset to an organization, initially as a backup and an important voice among the quarterbacks. He has starting potential if he lands in an offense that prioritizes quick decisions and rhythm passing.”

Hmm. What Dallas Cowboys coach runs a variation of the West Coast Offense? Specifically the Bill Walsh offense?

Here’s a bit about the requirements of a QB in that offense

“The West Coast offense requires a quarterback who throws extremely accurately, and often blindly, very close to opposing players. In addition, it requires the quarterback to be able to quickly pick the best one of five receivers to throw to, certainly much more quickly than in previously used systems. Often, the quarterback has no time to think about the play and must act robotically, executing the play exactly as instructed by the offensive coordinator, who calls the plays for him.”

Looks like a perfect fit.

Here’s a scouting report from 1979 about a guy who just needed the right scheme. The west coast scheme

“He can thread the needle, but usually goes with his primary receiver and forces the ball to him even when he’s in a crowd. He’s a gutty, gambling, cocky type. Doesn’t have great tools, but could eventually start.”

Was that you back in 1979?

I'm all for looking for a new possible replacement at QB. I don't like the thought of being tied into $40+ million for an average QB. That scares me more than not having a QB.

From Gil Brandt's top seven quarterback prospects' list:

1) Joe Burrow, LSU [Bengals first round #1]
2) Justin Herbert, Oregon [Chargers first round #6]
3) Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama [Dolphins first round #5]
4) Jordan Love, Utah State [Packers first round #26]

5) Jake Fromm, Georgia
6) Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma [Eagles second round #21]
7) Jacob Eason, Washington [Colts fourth round #16]

Going by Brandt's expectations, would it be fair suggesting the best available quarterback potential starters, who could be legitimate early competition for Prescott, are almost all off the board already? That, despite outsider trepidation about contract negotiations, and despite uncertainity in Prescott's level of performance to match any signed contract, Jerry Jones & Company are demonstrating their solid support in Prescott's future with the team?

On an unrelated note, it may be slightly satisfying for Jacob Eason seeing the guy, Jake Fromm, who took over as the Georgia Bulldogs starter after Eason fell to injury, CONTINUE to fall in the draft despite Eason having to sit for a good bit of remaining college eligibility after transferring to Washington.

Oops. Fromm was snatched by the Bills. Who else is legit who Gil Brandt did not have as high a grade on?

Well, prepare to be disappointed because the Cowboys aren't looking for a Dak replacement.

Rather than throw away some stupid pick, I am ALL OVER Steven Montez...I’ve never seen this guy look anything but poised...great arm...strong build...smart! ***And I hate Colorado...I have no dog in this fight***
It getting late for this pick.

Oh wait..

Here it is..it was stuck to the CeeDer Lamb draft scenario we never practiced.

If they draft a QB (which I hope not) but UDFA and based on M&M past, it will be Kelly Bryant out of Mizzu by way of Clemson. M&M likes athletic QBs to develop see Aaron Brooks, Rodgers, Brett Hundley, etc. I think Hundley is a free agent.

Sign Cam Newton or Jameis Winston, at least they both want to play this season

With this stacked offense we don’t need an elite Qb, much less spend elite money on one.

Let’s get someone who wants to be here

Front office dedicates one of its two remaining picks on defensive end. One pick left. Quarterbacks like Stanley are still available. What are their odds of getting drafted by the Cowboys? Undrafted free agency may end up being the road to the franchise.

I thought Hundley was still with the Cardinals.
