Horrible pick. We just lost our best CB/ Safety and we go for glamour?

Your thoughts

I think we got a player in Lamb who was highly rated more so than any defensive player remaining on the board. I think it was a great move taking a top player over lesser talent despite the position they play. Now in the 2nd Cowboys pick up a very good CB in Diggs

We lost to and were EMBARRASSED by theJets, NE, and Bills because of Def. Adding a WR that will take three seasons to develop will do nothing for this team to move forward.

Do you think a WR would have made a difference against LA in the playoffs in 2018?

Grade D so far.

Ever play the game, “Clue”? You should get one.

In 1998. We selected Greg Ellis at #8. Randy Moss was drafted by the Vikings @#21. Nuff said. You dont draft defense just for the sake of drafting defense when there is a blue chip player available on offense.

True then and even MORE true now. Like 10x more true...although the defense needs a lot of work. 4 of the best players left this offseason and it was below mediocre last year...so..

ANY team that would have drafted Randy Moss would never had said , 8 years later, yea, when we took Moss, we screwed up. we should have drafted defense.

No, that’s not what they went for. Whether right or wrong, it wasn’t glamour that drew them to the player, it was the belief that he had truly special talent that was unlikely to be found with another pick.

Heath was never best at tackling.

In hindsight, who would you have picked in that spot, keeping in mind that we would be gifting our arch rival their biggest need?

Best pick in years
You took the BPA that filled a need
Reaching to fill a particular need got us some of the worst picks ever

I'm so glad the only viable pass rusher we have coming off the edge right now is Tank Lawrence. Maybe Lamb and Diggs can pressure the quarterback, too.

None of the defensive players would have been better than just okay or good. Cee Dee Lamb will be the next top WR for as long as we want him. You can't pass up on that type of talent. Defense still has some talent.

Yep Greg Ellis had a nice career, but the Cowboys knew they should take Moss, but position need and concerns about his character steered them away. You often wonder what would have happened with Moss. There probably wouldn't have been a trade for Galloway so two extra first round picks to address DE. Maybe Aikman would have had a longer productive career, heck maybe Michael Irvin doesn't get injured in Philly running a different play and he plays longer too. Or maybe Moss later has a disagreement with Parcells and gets traded. Or maybe Parcells nevwr comes here lol. Interesting to think about an alternate reality.

Always best to take BPA whenever possible or at worst take BPA at the top 4 positions of need.

the only question now is whether lamb is in the same league as a player like moss.
I am going to watch some okla. games, and see more of him, HL are always biased.
so far I dont see a randy moss.
Many players do great in college, but once in the pros where they play other players who are also
fast etc, they are just average.
I think many are just assuming he will be great, but it isnt a certainty.

Who they picked doesn't really matter. Had they drafted a DT, you would have said they should have drafted a safety. Had they drafted a DE, you would have said how could they pass on a highly rated WR sitting there as BPA. Some people want to be critical no matter what moves are made.

You can say this about nearly every single player drafted ever. Not sure why the specific concern NOW.

And it works the other way too....sometimes a low round or undrafted player becomes a star.

And when THAT happens...people get mad you have to pay him.

I miss the old days when we just watched the game... and bought cool sports magazines.......instead of Internet experts and silly commentary.

800 plus yards from the slot. Yup. Nobody
Lamb is going to rip the slot up,, the peeps aren't realizing this just yet.
With Coop and Gallup outside, and now CD available to role safeties backwards,,, Zeke loving this all day, lets not forget this.
Good times coming Cowboys fans, we haven't even started discussing the implications this pick brings.
