Charlie Brown sings Andy Williams' classic The Impossible Dream

1*nQ7bM0AMfqJ35FFriVkENQ.jpeg

To dream the impossible dream (Getting rid of Prescott)
To fight the unbeatable foe (Reality)
To bear with unbearable sorrow (NOT getting rid of Prescott)
To run where the brave dare not go (Fantasy Island)

To right the unrightable wrong (Not getting my way)
To love pure and chaste from afar (Not far enough)
To try when your arms are too weary (Or tired fingers pecking a keyboard)
To reach the unreachable star (At the top of AT&T Stadium)

This is my quest (And threads and posts)
To follow that star (Light years away)
No matter how hopeless (Or demoralizing)
No matter how far. (But not as far away as CowboysZone)

Some of these "Cowboys fans" have become obsessed with what is now known as Dak-hate. When you engage with them to try to flush their reasoning out, they repeat falsehoods and make claims that the facts/stats don't back up. Logic, rationalization, fact-based discussion? All thrown out the window. There is zero benefit to engage in a discussion because their own personal "eye-test" is the only thing they need to repeat obsessively that Dak is an average to terrible QB.

And if you observe these Dak-haters outside the topic of QB, you will see they struggle at contributing with good thoughtful discussion in general. Some are constantly engaged at battle here which means their focus is on winning debates rather than contributing to the conversation. Put the obsessive ones on ignore and your experience will improve.

Dak hate is in your hateful world and mind.
We are tired of Field Goals and losing against teams over .500
Now take that hate and go smell the roses as hate is a waste of good energy!

Why do you keep trolling, you are ridiculous.
that's what he does. he has never contributed anything meaningful, he always always picks a controversial subject and just posts meaningless drivel. never ever has he suggested a viable alternative or solution. his the ultimate troll.

btw, he is a known alcoholic who is somewhat in recovery..... has fallen off several times, so not sure if he is off/on the wagon. he has also spent sometimes in Jail, was sued for using cheap material way back when. his biggest claim to fame was that he led a 6 year old girls teams to tee-ball championship, so he understand what leadership and leading a team means....literally he claimed that...

ask him about tashard choice....he always claimed choice was better than emmitt smith....

He can't win in a world where he has to earn it, apparently.
He wins when the games are less challenging, but chokes when things aren't going well.
I don't like having to be the bad guy, but the NFL is not a world that Dak can excel in unless he gets to play 6-10 teams all year.
so which QB has earned it? what does it mean to earn it? those are just words unless you can quantify and qualify their meanings.

btw, you know he has a 13-17 records against teams with winning records....better than a lot of QBs not named Brady...in fact among the best including your pet cat Keenum

I think I just got your shorts tied up in a knot...this should interesting :lmao:

Dak's lack of effort vs the Eagles last season with the NFC East title at stake tells you all you need to know.
I wish the guy was better and had not been coddled the way he was.
I'd really like to think that the Cowboys finally were ready to move on.
But he's just not that good.
so what lack of effort? you haven't qualified anything or pointed to anything....

btw, you hated garrett and thought he was the worst coach ever...I remember you said not worthy of coaching a pee-wee team...but here you blame Dak, yet not mention Garrett. where is garrett's blame in all of this claim you are making?

The same thing the Cowboys need to do now- find a quarterback.
They should have gone after Case Keenum. But there are others out there. Going into 2020 with only Dak as a capable starter is a recipe for failure.
case keenum. the loser....the guy who is among the worst QBs who ever played in the league...that keenum? the guy that 7 teams didn't want. 7 GMs passed on, one of them twice. the same QB that John Elway got rid of, the same John Elway that has won 3 as QB and one as a GM... the same QB that 6 head coaches said no thanks...that case keenum. you are talking about that loser keenum? you sure know how to pick and support losers, ala tashard choice LOL

If you’re going to post the random Dak troll post of the day, please at least do us the courtesy of providing your strategy on what we do after we reduce the QB roster to Cooper Rush and Ben DiNucci
he has no strategy...he is a troll, looking for interaction....that's what happens when you spend a lot of time in jail and are lonely...and a recovering alcoholic

The Cowboys might get to a Super Bowl, but it won't be because Dak led them there.
He might drive the bus, but the team will have to be good enough to carry him.
tell us about one all the QBs who wasn't carried to the superbowl. you seem to know so much

The Cowboys messed up by not going after Case Keenum or Marcus Mariota.
But they still could get Derek Carr or possibly Deshaun Watson if they went after them according to some reports.
Dak is okay, but he's not a leader and definitely not a $30 million per year talent. Not yet, anyway.
you sure like to pick losers....I guess you relate to them in real life, so you stick to them...for you it seems like emotional attachment..... I understand life has been hard. being sued. losing everything. losing your wife and then jail and in the middle of all of it dealing with alcoholism....it doesn't seem fair, but you can't point fingers. you can't blame anyone. its choices we make and tomorrow is not written. you can bounce back. its a matter of will and want. put the past behind you and walk a straight path....find solace in God as many do. anger, festering jealousy are not the solution and I think you know that better than anybody else. try and make amends, reach out to your son and daughter and ask for forgiveness and start the healing process.

So how about the times during the games Troy comments on Dak's accurate throws or decisions.
Did you go get a beer or completely ignored Troy's in-game praise of Dak...
dak has good throws every now and then. he is not a bad QB . But we are talking about a QB for the dallas cowboys with super bowl aspirations , dak struggles consistently against winning teams and on the road ( saints, patriots , eagles , plus losses to the jets and bears) and went 1-6 last year against them . And now he wants 40 million a year. Something is out of whack

Lol, you amuse me.

I don't mind Dak as our QB, just not at the pricetag he is asking. I don't agree that his skillset is equivalent to what he is asking. At 25 million a year I'd take Dak all day. What I find extremely humorous is that if you don't agree with me on this topic, I'm also a total fool on every aspect having to do with football. The kind of argument a typical young teenager would make when they let their emotions get the best of them.

If it were an adult only board, I'd agree. But being it's a family friendly site, we have to remind ourselves there's all different ages that are members on the Zone.

The biggest dopes on this board are adults. There’s at least a couple I’ve encountered that list their ages. Alcohol and sitting behind a monitor can bring out the stupidity in a lot of people. Some don’t even need alcohol.

I would keep the tag in place.
And I would forego the continued attempts at a long term deal and let his agent know the 31.5M this year is all they're guaranteeing for this season and they will revisit the longer term option after this season.

The critical part of this is getting him to sign the tag and get started on this new offense. McC announced it would be a new offense which was different from what he said at first and this has already changed twice. It is imperative that they get him in the same book and on the same pages with McC and Moore. Not to mention they got him a bright shiny new WR to play with and they'll need some reps.

This situation with the season up in the air is not putting a lot of heat on this right now but once they have firm plans, if he hesitates to sign and get to work for 31.5M, he's going to have a lot of fans jump that Good Ship Prescott. He has no good reason to hold out any further, they used the good tag on him and that even got sweeter since they put that into effect.

When I think of adults and fanhood, they don't jive really well and a fully grown man in a worship jersey for a player is hardly adult. I think many have a somewhat reversion back to their younger years when it comes to their sports teams. And for that, they can certainly be given some latitude.

I don't need alcohol to post here but to actually read a lot of the posts here, yeah, it helps.
