This draft is what happens when the coaching staff and Scouting Dept are on the same page. For yrs we heard and saw how JGs staff and Scouting Dept never saw eye to eye and picks were screwed up. Some just never made sense. Then some were home runs. There isnt a pick this this draft that you really complain about. Gotta give it to the whole organization for righting a wrong.

I think things may have gone our way a little better because teams weren’t together during the offseason.

Dallas looks to have capitalized on the circumstances.

The Eagles looked like the guy in your fantasy league that has no idea what he is doing.

The usual suspect talking heads are defending the Eagles still. Cowherd is saying our draft was trash and we have not replaced the players we lost. Maybe I missed the memo but when did Heath, Cobb and Quinn become all-pros. The Eagles obviously panicked when they missed on CeeDee. No one can defend them for drafting Hurts in the second round. He has no special talents other then leadership.

As most of you know I’m the first one to bash Dallas when I feel they did wrong.

Dallas couldn’t have done much better then what they did with what was available.

We still need safety and D End help and I hope they make a move and find something at Right End.

give it a few years. there were some good drafts, not so good drafts. 2019 was one of the worst. usually it happens in the last year of a coach on a team. specially one in his last year, and everyone acting desparate.
2018 netted LVE and Gallup
2017 netted Chidobe, that's about it..
2016 zeke, Jaylon, dak

now, with that said, no games have been played, so lets wait and see how this group does. usually every so often things just fall into place and you hit a homerun draft, which propels you for a few years

but all in all, everything fell into place this year. we couldn't have imagined for Lamb to fall that far. its was a no brainer. nothing to do with coaches or scouts....Diggs falling that far was another luck, in a position of need. another no brainer. I did like the trade up to get our center......

Another factor is that the quarantine greatly reduced the time that scouts and coaches could talk to a prospect and work him out. That means the teams with a strong Front Office and coaches with wide personal networks among the college coaches have a real advantage.

I think that happened here. Lamb and Diggs were no brainers but those personal relationships had to help with the staffs at OU, Tulsa, etc. McCarthy has ties to the Wisconsin staff apparently because he pounded on the table for Bladazz.

Funny side note is that McCarthy had insight into Thuh Nooch because his brother was his 8th grade coach.

I think they are mo ing awuzie to S to compete. With woods. Dix is going to start. DE i think they know something we dont regarding Gregory and Smith. They had chances chances to draft DE but they passed. Maybe they're looking at vets.

It's like we haven't drafted the second most Pro Bowlers in the last ten years, or like the 2016 draft never happened. But the coaches and scouting department got on the same page when McCarthy arrived?

Why go with a theory that doesn't explain the phenomena?

Its hard NOT to be on the same page is your 6th best player drops to 17, you have Diggs with a first round grade sitting at 51 and then a high second on Gallimore when you draft at 82.
Lol yeah.

There was a reason why the bottom of the TV said

PICK IS IN.....rather quickly each time lol.

Is that actually true?? I know that staff definitely did less with more but those numbers make me even more ill. What a waste.

I'd have thought that was the obvious criticism of the last staff: they underperformed with a talented roster. It's rewriting history, however, to suggest that they prevented the assembly of good talent.

Agreed. Much like the DC GM.

Well, you have to give Will McClay some credit in the GM department because I'm sure he is certainly paid like one. Jerry Jones is good at making money and owning the team so yeah, he's a great salesman as well, but Garrett to me gets buy solely on his ability to sell himself and talk a great game, there is just no substance behind the guy in regards to making good coaching decisions.

Its pretty simple actually. We have a REAL head coach who just told the Cowboys flat out that he just wants great football players. They don't have to fit into some dumb box. Playmakers.

McClay had to be excited because he could finally just do his job purely and find the best people.

Instead of Jerry having to satisfy a broken system where there is the offense, the defense, and a bunch of Indians in Garrett and Marrinelli jockeying for players.

There is ONE man in charge of the football team and he knows what he wants.
