Yup. It elevates some guys but makes others redundant or nearly unusable.

We saw SEA CBs go get big money in FA to only end up out of the league in 23 years after leaving.

We also saw SEA start to struggle some at CB and eventually fire Richard.

Keep in mind they had a play-making top 10 overall pick at FS covering for CBs. They could mix Cover 1 HEAVILY in there with Earl.
Dallas really had to go almost all Cover 3.

they only started struggling when they lost pieces and injuries. I mean Al Harris was fired in KC

A big tenant of my personal philosophy is to live in the world as it is and not how I want it to be. Use what works in practice not what you want or expected to work.

The Cowboys for many years have failed to do that.

if you"re a "GOOD" corner you can get ints playing man, Dieon did it for years in man coaverage

Not how Byron plays. He reacts to the WR's movements to focus on preventing the catch by swiping at the ball or knocking it from their hands. Or just getting in the passing lane between the WR and the qb. Most of the time his eyes are on the receiver which means no INTs. We probably led the league in balls hitting DB helmets.

Yes, it was the scheme, heard some others stating as much the last half of the season that’s why it seemed Chido was always getting beat, he was doing what was asked same with the LBs.

Marinelli was the biggest detriment to this team. perhaps one could argue Garrett since he's the one who kept him on his staff. but Marinelli took the talent available and neutered it. him being gone is going to make a noticeable difference.

Garrett teams struggled at takeaways before Marinelli. Matter of fact, from 2011-2019 no team had fewer INTs than us. Different players, different coordinators, same results.

Simple analysis pointed this out a long time ago. Players got INT's elsewhere, but not here. DB's would leave and look good after looking terrible here.

Thats what Ive been saying. When you are last in the league at turnovers for a DECADE its not just about the players.

I've never really understood the team's unwillingness to adapt, especially from game to game and in-game.
I hope that stubbornness and/or clueless...ness has ended.

Those of you who don't know Clay Mack, he's a big-time DB coach/trainer based in DFW. He said he doesn't think its a personnel issue with the backend. He said when he trained the Cowboys DBs in the offseason the coaches were forcing them to do only one technique instead of coaching to their strengths.

It does not matter what this "trainer" observed in the past. We have a new coaching staff new players that will do things a new way. Rather than rehashing what was, how about we move forward by focusing on what can be.

Poor Chido. I've never seen a CB get super-tight window catches on him when his coverage is terrific, but for the fact that he just won't turn his head to grab the ball himself.

And what's funny is you know he watches himself on film, must be embarrassed and realize the lost opportunity and what does he do? The same thing the next game.

By looking at the possibility that the players on our team could perform better if taught differently and put in better positions to succeed?
I'm just spit-balling here.

To me, not adjusting AT ALL during the game has been Dallas' downfall the past decade. That and not playing to the teams strengths and opponents weakness....

That's on Byron, its because he's always in trail, or out of phase, as CB from youth ball you're taught to read the WR eyes to look for the ball, when the WR eyes become big and wide, look unless you're trying to get back in phase, at which point you chop through the arms,or break the wrists, plus his ball skills aren't great.

Why do people all always spout off BS. ranks in TO 7 of the last 10 years and the margin to get into the top 10 in most of these years is very low. 2010 #10, 2011 #16, 2013 #13 , 2014 #2, 2016 #19, 2017 # 17 , 2018 # 16th

Some more BS. these are turnovers for 7 of 10 years he was here.

2010 #10, 2011 #16, 2013 #13 , 2014 #2, 2016 #19, 2017 # 17 , 2018 # 16th
