I really hope you’re right.
I hope so as well. It's funny because I really don't like to see C. Williams wearing #52 on the O line when everyone else wears a number in the 70's. The starting group of receivers wear numbers in the teens, and I for one would like to see that continue but I'm not the billionaire owner, so what I think or say doesn't really matter.

Not sure why you are getting personal. Guess the argument is over. So sorry about your boy Dez. He was a decent player for the Cowboys for a couple years but the ship has sailed. Sorry buddy.
What's personal about that Larry Holmes?

I wonder what Jerry say or do to get lamb for change his mind to wear 88 because when the rookie numbers came out lamb and his number wasn't on it and lamb stated he want to wear number 10.

Wow, some heavy expectations for this young man. If he doesn't get over 1000 yards he'll probably be called a bust around here

He doesn’t need to earn the number.. That is silly.

He just shouldn’t have it forced on him.

88 on him was a bad choice if for no other reason then it just won’t look right.
We don’t know that 88 was “forced” on Lamb. We don’t know how married to 10 he was when he answered the question on the radio the night he was picked. And we don’t know that he didn’t like the idea of 88 and its legacy in Dallas.

For all we know, Lamb might have loved the idea of wearing a number that is reserved for special receivers.

We don’t know. There are a ton of assumptions that are being made on this subject. A ton.

However, you’re right about it not looking good to fans. I knew there’d be outrage about this as soon as I read it.

Classic Jerry.

Look around the league. WRs no longer desire to wear #s in the 80s. Let the kid choose his number like everyone else.

It's not even about what other WRs wear. It's about doing something selfish with no benefit to the team. It's about making something entirely insignificant a point of contention. If Lamb doesn't want to wear the #88 then don't make him wear #88. Forcing it on him is a level of pettiness for the sake of personal gratitude that you can't even begin to measure.

We know he was more married to #10 than he was to #88. #10 was available and yet he'll wear #88. That is the definition of, "forced".

Hell, maybe he was just casually dating #10 and now he's found a number to settle down and raise a family with.

Cosign!! Now there's a lot of pressure on that kid.
I very much doubt he will be running pass routes thinking "OMG, I've got to live up to Dez, Irvin and Pearson because I'm wearing 88!".

No, we know that the night of the draft he was asked and answered that he would wear 10. We don’t know how important that was to him, how long he had been decided and we don’t know if he even knew of the 88 legacy.

Maybe he just pulled 10 out of the air in that moment. Maybe he had wanted to be 10 for years. We don’t know.

We don’t know that he didn’t love the idea of 88 when it was brought up and we don’t know if he hated it.

Sigh. Is there really a chance this off-season has sixteen more months to go? :banghead:

Well, put me on the list of people who wont be buying that tired old 88 number with Lamb on the back.

10 would have been cool.

On the off chance that MAYBE this affects Lamb in the slightest it wasnt worth it, but Jerry is so wrapped up in his own ego he cant see it.

Guy makes me sick, and he always will.

So it's not a good thing for CeeDee to break Dez's records? Everyone knows he's illiterate (have you heard him talk or write?) so hopefully that didn't offend your precious Dez love.
