This is getting blown out of proportion.

While everyone here is arguing, I’m trying to find out how to get a limited version of the jersey :lmao:

Real talk right there brother.

So if he wears #10 then expectations will be lower? My expectations of the top WR in the draft are sky high. It makes no difference if he wears #10 or #88 in that regard.
Wearing #10 doesn't lower expectations at all...but the guy will be forced to wearing a number that HE himself would rather not wear. He idolizes Deandre Hopkins, not Jerry's deceased friend, so if Tayvon Austin is released that #10 would be available to him. I for one loved and still love the #3 which I wore from the ages of 7 to 22, but my son wears #9 and I've never forced him to wear #3, and my EXPECTATIONS for him has not and will not change...but athletes are partial to numbers.

I wear whatever number my employer tells me to wear and give hometown discounts to help the cap.

Too subtle?

I would have snatched up a #10 Lamb so fast, #88 just looks weird on him to me.

Oh well, hopefully he plays as good as the rest of those who wore it.
Yep, went from instant buy to a hard pass for me.

Either that or dig out an old Irvin jersey, throw a piece of duct tape over it and write Lamb on it. (That's a joke of course)

I want him to make his own legacy and wear the number he wants. Jerry needs to let Lamb be Lamb. He means well, but should back off. This feels wrong.

What are you sorry for me for? There's nothing to be sorry for, but I'm not going to trade snippets with someone on a forum that I don't know. Have a great evening sir, or ma'am...there's too much going on in the world right now to argue over a jersey number...I just voiced my opinion on the matter, you chose to quote my post. Moving on...

But he's giving the number out so much that its lost its "hype".

I don't understand this, though. The last 88 is the franchise leader in TDs. What is making the hype dissipate?

For me, it's just too soon. I'm sure a lot will disagree, but I think they should have waited until Dez retired to reassign as a sign of respect.

Yes catches, TD those are the important numbers. Others have worn it and I don't recall any hissy fits over Dez wearing Irvin number. Why? Now it is a big deal, give me a break

Well, you'll are saying 88 is a big deal.
