Thats the problem the price won't be really low for Dalton. Atleast $10 mill bare min but likely closer to 12-14 for 1 year deal. Dallas won't pay that. I would then go Flacco over Newton because I think there is chance Newton would win starting spot but I am not fan of his in anyway.

I want nothing to do with Flacco. The guy stopped caring years ago. I'd go with Rush first or the rookie.

Interesting segment today they were discussing Cowboys signing one of the following 3 as an insurance policy in case Dak got hurt so the season would not be a bust if that did happen:

Cam Newton

Andy Dalton

Joe Flacco

Points were made there were no bidding wars for any of them and they could be had possibly for a low price. If you had to choose one of these 3 who would you want ?

For me it would have to be between Cam and Dalton not a big fan of Flacco TBH

I would lean more towards Cam just Accuracy concerns me but i think he fits the best !

Dalton all day and twice on Sundays.

Here is list of still available QBs:

Dalton
Newton
Flacco
Matt Moore
Kyle Sloter
Josh McCown
Mike Glennon
Sam Bradford

I think Dallas is making a massive massive mistake by not properly addressing back-up QB. Dak could barely throw the ball in Eagles game last year and it was later revealed he has chronic shoulder injury dating back to college. Who ever felt they saw enough from Cooper Rush to throw 2 million at him for extension needs to be examined. Cooper Rush is not NFL QB in any capacity. Its almost criminal with all assets on offensive side of ball to not have back up plan if Dak gets hurt or holds out.

I would take Dalton over the others but I don’t see us going with any of them. Cam wouldn’t accept a backup role and he’s lost his last 8 starts. Joe Flacco’s game is in the toilet.

This is all just a bunch of nonsense, The Cowboys 2020 QB room is complete. All they need is the vet, the understudy, and the project. That's exactly what they already have.

its funny people forget the player s makes the choice LOL its not like Dallas says look we could have all 3 lets pick one..

NO got lucky to have Winston WANT TO GO to No badly enough to take huge discount to be the backup with like 4 options..thats crazy putting your ego aside..

which vet out there is will to do what Winston did and comes here..tha the real question..Dalls doesnt just have clout to get anyone they want for whatever.. see the ET fail etc

In my wildest dream.

I could not see any of these guys being signed.

Aikman never had anybody who would threaten him.

Same with Romo.

So that shows me Flacco and Cam are out primarily because hey have either won or made a SB before.

Dalton is just not a fit as his style would not really fit I don't believe.

Then again, Big Mike was hired primarily BECUZ he has won a SB.

So it's all just confusing as heck with Jerrah.

What else is new really?

This, get him old jerrah from the Yacht.

Dalton is not cheap. There is reported interest in him by a couple of teams, one of them being the Patriots. I think the reason we usually don’t have good back-ups is because they view it as a position to save money. He would be awesome as a backup though.

To me its between Dalton and Cam But cams mobility and athleticism would be a great fit here - Cams accuracy concerns me a little but his ability to run like dak would be a great fit

I like a running QB for a backup. Brings something extra to the table that works in the absence of starter snaps.

Flacco has the Super Bowl ring but his expiration date has come and gone. If Cam failed here it could get ugly. I much prefer Dalton here.

Cam is one of my favorite all time QBs, but Andy Dalton is the right choice at this time. Dalton could perform very well with the weapons and coaches DAL has.

Cam has some accuracy issues and holds on to the ball a tick too long, but I'd be happy if they got him.

At this point, just get some veteran who can steer the ship if Dak goes down. Somebody, somewhere mentioned Matt Moore...yes he qualifies, so it doesn't have to be splashy, just solid/adequate.
