I was down on the pick at first because he ran 4.9. The I remembered D-law ran 4.80 while weighing 251. Lawrence weighs 266 now, so I'm certain he's a 4.9 guy himself at this point.
Anae's no slower than Lawrence. HOPefully he has technique and a high motor.

If you ever watched him play, you wouldn't question things about him. He didn't have a great combine and that killed his draft stock. He was #89 on Kipers list an should have been a day 2 pick and the Cowboys totally stole him in the 5th.

For both Demarcus Lawrence and Bradlee Anae, technique means everything. We really do appear to be blessed with two impact pass rushers.
Law's weakness is speed. He covers it up with technique and strength. Plus he has a good first step, but if he ran a 4.7 or taster, he'd dominate more and wouldn't be invisible for 2 or 3 straight games. He also wouldnt have to line up on the strong side. He's a all-time great run stuffer and a very good pass rusher.

well obviously I didnt watch him play. That's why im humble enough to ask those who have seen him play. College has too many players for me and others to have seen every single player.

Actually, you caught me before my post was complete. Before I ever read your post, I added the very same things you mentioned. Speed and quickness are far from the only strengths that make pass rushers effective. I surely agree with that fact wholeheartedly. We have several pass rushers likely to give our opponents fits. I think we might be safe to add Armstrong to that list. We'll see. :)

If Aldon Smith and/or Gregory add anything worth mentioning to our corps of pass rushers, we'll be set. I've avoided including them on that list, due to Goodell being so unpredictable. In any event, pressuring opposing QBs should be a strong suit in 2020. I'm counting on that. So should you.

I was shocked when I saw just 265. I figured like 280

Lawrence

Smith
Armstrong
Anae
Crawford

That sounds solid and projecting...

Defensive ends are like that kid being chased by a dog, you don't have to be Faster than the dog is, just be faster than one of your friends.

yep, I’ve been in this situation and my friend got tore up by 2 dogs when we were like 12. I was insanely fast though, I went to the same high school as Olympian and NFL player (DJ Dozier) and I broke DJ Dozier’s 100m HS record lol.. kid never had a chance.
