Anyone would be a better coach. However, Jerry didn't make up the game plans or manage the game or fail to make adjustments. Jerry in fact, is more of a risk taker where Garrett is more conservative.

And the notion that Jerry didn't give Garrett a fair shake here is laughable.

How do you want me to explain hope Roy? :)

But he owned my Giants for years. From Romo to Dak Cowboys always had a solid offense. He was employed by footballs biggest team in popularity for over 10 years.

Do I think he will be great for sure? No. But I have hope.

I believe Garrett will be a great help for Daniel Jones and develop him

This is the thought I need you to explain. True that Garrett had a franchise QB the entire time and much talent on offense. Not sure how you screw that up completely? You and I could have wracked up the yards and scored points.

With Dak especially there was much displeasure with the way Dak has been used. Moore opened things up and it made all the difference. Romo wanted more control and clearly didn't like Garrett running the offense. IN fact, he demanded more control of the offense before he would resign.

I think Dak wouldn’t have played this well if it wasn’t for Garrett. I also believe he had a hand in developing Romo into borderline HOF. But I hear your arguments. One of us will be right. We shall see :)

Do Giants fans like Ivy League resumes , "proper" press conferences, and toothpaste-ad grins? Then they'll love Garrett.

If they want someone who actually coaches his players up to their potential? Not so much.

Well hell....the joke is on you. We sat here and watch him head coach us for 10 years...that's the real laughing matter. Him being a OC probably is the best fit for him.
I honestly believe his best fit is front office, I think he lacks skills and credibility to be on the field coaching.

Giants fans i know in north jersey dont expect improvement anytime soon. They say coaching staff will be fired in 2 years and so will daniel jones

Yeah, several of my best friends are Giants fans. They're hoping Jones develops like Eli did with a better offensive line.

Had the Giants not drafted Jones with the 6th overall pick they could have drafted DE Josh Allen, and then DT Dexter Lawrence and had them both. Picked up either Jones or Drew Lock with their next pick. We know Lock would have been there. Then this draft picked up DT Derrick Brown. Then worry about the OL. Look at that crazy defensive line we would have had to deal with twice a year.

Are you in north Jersey? I grew up in the north end so I know how crowded it can get. The reason I ask is I now live on the border between north and south Jersey. We don't have lines to get into stores, hardly anyone in there as well. I thought the lines were only in big cities like NY.
I'm in Bayonne. Between Jersey City and Staten Island. About 10 minutes outside NYC.

Say no more. That's where my wife is from. Been there many times. I still have extended family that live there. It was in Bayonne that I watched the 1992 NFC Championship game. In fact, I walked to the corner bar to pick up another 6 pack after Ken Norton intercepted a pass when we were already up 24-13. It was close enough that I could walk and get back before commercials were over. As I was paying for the beer guys were talking at the bar saying it's not over yet. I was beyond giddy. I waited until I got to the door before yelling out, IT'S OVER! They threw shot glasses at me. I'll never forget that. But I knew enough to get by the door.

As a Giants fan I believe Garrett will be a great help for Daniel Jones and develop him. Call me delusional but I have hope. :)

well u would need to have:
1. someone else to call the plays
2. someone else for clock management
3. someone else to do contingency planning when the game plan does not work
4. someone else to develop a game plan that goes beyond out executing the other team
5. someone else to scheme the offense beyond out-executing the other side
6. someone else to adapt the offense if the players dont fit the scheme perfectly
7. someone else to draft and sign players for talent rather than scheme fit

garrett can at least:
1. talk to the press about rkg
2. do his best work on kneepads
3. backstab the hc
4. throw people under the bus

Maybe. I can't say. It took McCarthy to get away from the Packers to realize what he was doing wrong. Garrett should do the same.

Yes, but McCarthy mostly did more good than bad, so who's to say where or why shortcomings reared it's head. Sometimes it's just time to move on, but Big Mike has tons of skins on the wall while Garrett mainly has none.

I don’t disagree but some feel McCarthy was just a product of Aaron Rodgers.

Care to explain that comment?
I wouldn't bother, you're just going to jump all over his reply.

We get it, Garrett wasn't a success in his time in Dallas. He was a better just as a coordinator. He had top scoring offenses, top running games. There are lots of good coordinators who failed as HCs. Calling him a 2 as a OC just isn't accurate.

Garrett was a horrid OC. In fact, he was probably worse at being an OC.

The guy has no place whatsoever being in control of an offense. For all the talent he had, a monkey could have scored points.
