I don't see New York, California, and some other states allowing NFL games to be played. Some governors seem to be enjoying the shutdown.

I DO! I DO!!!

Jason “The Red Doosh” Garrett is gone.
No way do we not see a real improvement in Sunday Coaching now.

Have to like the new coaching regime. The old was pretty stale. McCarthy’s year off freshened him
Or just getting rid of Garrett's influence in the organization is providing a fresh breeze.

It was not just Jason. His father had stroke. His opinion on players was carried with greater weight.

I have to admit, that for the FIRS TIME in a loooong time..... I am at least optimistic. Yes, Jerry is still here and probably will be for a while... but there is a new HC, new stafff and this offseason did look different. I am taking this with caution, and it could very well end up like always.

Any comments?
FA has been more aggressive, the draft was better than usual, McCarthy is saying all the right things. Heck yeah, I'm hopeful.

Well you just agreed with someone who said they hope for the best not necessarily expect it.

You should show more faith in our players.
I do know the best chance thIs team has is with Dak as the QB. You know why I know this? I listen to those with skins on the walls and not come potato chip eating couch riding CZ fan.

I do. I wish the QB situation would work out but the off-season has been a good one. The DL is much improved. Good draft. Fred Beard will be replaced. Dynamic new WR. Added a real S. Got rid of a couple old JAGs. Kicking game better. A real head coach. A real ST coach. Marinelli gone. At least one of the suspended guys will help. How could anyone argue the team is not improved?

Don't confuse hope with expectations. The former a wish. The latter reality.

I am willing to give the new season a chance because there have been enough changes that look really good for the team and fans. Jason Garrett is alone addition by subtraction, the new coach has won a Super Bowl and I really like his coaching staff as a whole. Then there are the free agents and draft picks, which have many of us really excited. As the season goes on, I will be following the games and how we do both on the road and especially vs. the "good" teams. It's time to start winning some of these games, as those are the teams you will be playing In The Playoffs...If we make them.

Skins on the wall? Who has those? Fat Mike? Or the loser front office of the last 25 years?

I'm still a naive gullible fool.

Ever since the first season of addiction, I blindly hope that this next batch will remind me of that blissful time.

Every season my dealer promises pure high quality stuff. Doesn't really matter, I'm going to accept the thinnest, slightest possibility that he's telling the truth.

It's part of the sickness.

The Freckled Puppet had more than worn out his welcome and if he was hired back for 2020 I would of quit watching the games until he was gone, that was the deal I made with a few of my friends. I think Jerry knew that many of us were getting ready to check out if Garrett was brought back and he finally scarfed down the humble pie and admitted Garrett was a mistake by not renewing him..

I think instead of being unrealistic in terms of what McCarthy can do I'm just enjoying the fact that we have a real football man in charge of things, so if I'm optimistic about one thing it's that McCarthy will make us respectful again, you can take that to the bank. I feel like the growing pains will be certain, but I believe we've taken a huge step up finally having a real football coach as a opposed to a Car Salesman with a little man complex in which we had with the puppet.

The fatal flaw for Jason Garrett was that he was not a motivator, sufficiently. He was respected, but not a truly effective leader in the top slot.

Oh, he knew the game and talent, but his leadership skills lacked top shelf clarity...

The Cowboys now have a Head Coach who has already made it to the Dance. He won't have as long a turn around time, like the seven seasons for Andy Reid.
