Just saying

Every QB the Cowboys have ever had is winless in that situation (0-10).

Dak was terrible in the LA playoff game until garbage hour against their prevent defense. His arm gave us zero chance to win that game. Same story against anyone good last year. The man did not engineer a single 4th quarter comeback in 2019. But wait, lets harken back to 2016.

But no worries, Jerry is trying to buy more. The offer is now 35 million annually with 106M guaranteed. We should have 8-8 sewn up for the foreseeable future.

You mean the one where he outplayed the other QB and our defense allowed almost 300 rushing yards? The one where Zeke had less than 50 yards? That one?

Well you're more reasonable than most. They look at the numbers and go straight to "outrage."

well I saw the numbers and saw red lol - but I'm also not to proud to admit when I'm wrong or see someones point of view

The guarantee changes my point of view.

30 points is too arbitrary of a number. A better number is 24 points as that is the average for a team to score in an NFL game. How your team and QB perform when the opponent scores average is a much better indicator. Prescott is 3-14 in that stat since the start of 2017. 5-16 overall. 0-2 in the postseason. Comparing those numbers across QBs would be a much better comparison.

Mahomes when his defense gave up over 30 points:

Regular Season 2 wins, 6 losses

Playoffs 1 win, 1 loss

These are not correct. He is 4-6 overall, 1-1 in the postseason when the opponent scores 30. Not sure where you got your numbers. Here’s the kicker though. Not a single one of the losses had the Chiefs lose by more than 7 points. And in those six losses the Chiefs averaged 34.8 ppg, more than their overall average ppg.

Good point
Even more!
0-13

Here were the QBs for those team losses (alphabetical).
  • Aikman 0-2
  • Hogeboom 0-1
  • Meredith 0-1
  • Morton 0-2
  • Prescott 0-2
  • Romo 0-1
  • Staubach 0-2
  • White 0-2

So, even the best quarterbacks of all time struggle when they don't have a good defense.

Is this supposed to be a "pay Dak a ridiculous percentage of the cap" thread or "don't pay Dak a ridiculous percentage of the cap" thread?

Check again.

I said over 30.

Pro football reference game/player/team finder is wonderful functionality. I wish I had access to their db and could write my own SQL against it to get even more precise data.

I think they do have an API. Don't know if it's SQL. Some other org has NFL data and an API.

Don’t worry, Dak will CONTINUE to show that he’s the Man. His team mates know it, Jerry knows it, Troy knows it, Bill Belicheck knows it, Mike McCartthy knows it and anyone who knows anything about football knows it. It just takes the mouth breathers a little more time to realize it. Some will never admit it because they’re not a big enough of a man to say “Damn, I was wrong.” Those are the types to just ignore. Weak people. Frag material.

I assumed it was 30+ given the original post but either way it’s 3-6 so your number is still wrong. He didn’t play against the Packers.

You implied that the OP data was deceptive by not including Mahomes, but 3 wins, 6 losses is not really something they would leave out if they're trying to show that notable QBs didn't fare well under those circumstances.
