With the draft completed and most experts give the Cowboys very high marks for their selections...
Who would you have chosen at that spot that was available and not the Cowboys selection.

1st Round (17) – 17th WR CeeDee Lamb Oklahoma

2nd Round (19) – 51st CB Trevon Diggs Alabama

3rd Round (18) – 82nd DT Neville Gallimore Oklahoma

4th Round (17) – 123nd CB Reggie Robinson II Tulsa

5th Round (19) – 146 (traded up with eagles) C Tyler Biadasz Wisconsin
Traded 164 this year and 5th round pick in 2021

5th Round Comp (2)- 179 DE Bradlee Anae Utah

7th Round (17) – 231rd QB Ben Dinucci James Madison

(17) CeeDee Lamb
(51) Trevon Diggs
(82) Jordan Elliott
(123) Reggie Robinson
(146) Tyler Biadasz
(179) Bradlee Anae
(231) TJ Brunson

Overall I loved our draft. Only two I’d split hairs with is Elliott over Gallimore. DiNucci is a great pick there. Can’t complain over a 7th round developmental guy

1st - Lamb - love it

2nd - Diggs - love it

3rd - would have gone with the Marcus Mosher special and drafted Terrell Burgess. I like Gallimore and am happy with the pick, but I'd at least give Hill a shot to make it as the 4th DT.

4th - no need to take Reggie Robinson with Burgess filling the same nickelback/safety role, so let's go with Curtis Weaver filling a huge need at end.

4th - Tyler Biadez - love it, far more potential than your average late round pick.

5th - Netani Muti - don't care for Bradley Anae as a prospect so I'm going BPA. Muti has some serious NFL potential.

7th - Ben DiNucci - if McCarthy likes him then cool.

I'm trying to think of my exact thoughts at the time of each pick. @JBS can double check me here.

1st Round (17) – 17th WR CeeDee Lamb Oklahoma - We did a bunch of "predraft math" and while we thought one of the 3 big-named WR's could very well be here, neither of us thought CeeDee Lamb would be. Weeks before the draft I preferred Jeudy over him, but I classified them as 1A Jeudy/1B Lamb. When the knee issue with Jeudy came up, I moved Lamb up on my wish list. I absolutely draft Lamb here.

2nd Round (19) – 51st CB Trevon Diggs Alabama - @JBS kept thinking Diggs could be the pick at 17, and it sounds like the Cowboys had a 1st round grade on him. I think I wanted Jaylon Johnson here, but he went 1 pick earlier, so I said Diggs as well.

3rd Round (18) – 82nd DT Neville Gallimore Oklahoma - I did not like this pick when it was made. JBS did. I felt he was like Trysten Hill, with great first-step quickness, but no clue what to do after it. What I wasn't thinking of is Gallimore's passion and heart. At the time of the pick I wanted Alabama Edge Terrell Lewis, who went 2 picks later.

4th Round (17) – 123nd CB Reggie Robinson II Tulsa - This is the part of the draft that separates draft fan (JBS) from draft-obsessed fanatic (me). He was wondering who is any good here and I'm naming 10 guys I want at this point. I'm super intrigued by Reggie Robinson, but at the time, I probably would have gone with my 2020 draft crush Kenny Robinson, who went to the Panthers 29 picks later.

5th Round (19) – 146 (traded up with eagles) C Tyler Biadasz Wisconsin - Didn't have a name on my mind since the Cowboys traded up. I was initially concerned about Biadasz's health and why the heck the Eagles would let us (their only real competition for the NFC East) trade up to get "our guy" with this pick. I really wanted Virginia CB Bryce Hall, so like the Cowboys did, I double up on CB here.

Traded 164 this year and 5th round pick in 2021

5th Round Comp (2)- 179 DE Bradlee Anae Utah - I think Anae is a steal at 179, but since I drafted a RDE earlier, I would have taken SMU WR James Proche here.Lamb can play slot, Proche is a slot WR.

7th Round (17) – 231rd QB Ben Dinucci James Madison - At the time, I thought this was Dallas' annual look-at-how-clever-we-are pick. I was (still am) concerned about the Tight End position, so I would have used this pick for Thaddeus Moss from LSU, who went undrafted. Would have been nice to draft him as a "my bad' for not drafting his father Randy when we had the chance.

I think all in all we are splitting hairs on guys, but I think at the end of the day this has been the happiest we have been in a very long time with a draft.
No *****ing or complaining about the draft is almost unheard of in a forum, and I am not saying the fan know more about players than most FO do but covering the draft in forums for almost 10 years now in this and the DC website forum we are right more times than any FO.

With that being said this draft class is going to be amazing.

1st Round (17) – 17th WR CeeDee Lamb Oklahoma - Maybe it's because he's a Cowboy now, but I don't think I can be moved off of this one. The WR class didn't stretch as much as I thought it would (at least in my opinion); Texas WR Devin Duvernay was the last guy I would have really wanted and he went a few spots behind us in the 3rd instead of possibly falling to the fourth. The only real way I could be moved off of this one would be a hypothetical trade that would net us LSU S Grant Delpit and at least another third rounder. Ultimately irrelevant; we were drafting Lamb or Chaisson no matter what when we went on the clock at #17 and Lamb has the higher grade.

2nd Round (19) – 51st CB Trevon Diggs Alabama - I wouldn't have considered anyone else.

3rd Round (18) – 82nd DT Neville Gallimore Oklahoma - I would've considered my other pet cat, Florida ER Jonathan Greenard, but Gallimore is a higher rated prospect on my board. It's just a matter of which one is needed more; ER or DT.

4th Round (17) – 123nd CB Reggie Robinson II Tulsa - Looking at who was available, nobody really jumps out at me as an option. Michigan OG Ben Bredeson is a guy that I really liked, but that's a question of strategy between LG & OC. If not him, then Reggie Robinson II.

5th Round (19) – 146 (traded up with eagles) C Tyler Biadasz Wisconsin - Barring a hypothetical selection where I draft Jonathan Greenard in the third, I would rather draft Boise State ER Curtis Weaver in our original draft slot. Beyond that, Biadasz is the guy.

5th Round Comp (2)- 179 DE Bradlee Anae Utah - I'm alone on this island, but I'm not a fan of Anae. There's not really a lot of good options here though. The best players on my board are a couple of offensive lineman, so I probably would have selected the redshirt Auburn OT Prince Tega Wanogho and hope he becomes something in 2021.

7th Round (17) – 231rd QB Ben Dinucci James Madison - I still haven't watched any tape on him, so I can't judge the pick. I would probably pick Georgia S J.R. Reed.

What's an "ER"?

(17) CeeDee Lamb (WR)
(51) Trevon Diggs (CB)
(82) Lloyd Cushenberry (OC)
(123) Reggie Robinson (CB)
(146) Kenny Robinson (S)
(179) Bradlee Anae (DE)
(200) KJ Hill (WR) **I would have traded up using a future pick**

At 51 I had it: 1. Cushenberry 2. Dantzler 3. Elliott 4. Gallimore in the 3rd round.
At 82 I had it: 1. K.Robinson 2. Biadasz
At 200 KJ Hill had no business being available. I would have traded up for him using a future 7th to use him as a slot receiver / 4th option.

I might have gone Elliott over Gallimore, but its not that clear cut. I like DiNucci, but I am not sure I would have drafted him in the 7th round. There were rumors other teams wanted him but if I knew I would be open to signing Andy Dalton, I would have gone after a guy like Brian Cole, who might be a good special teams player and backup safety. DiNucci probably has no shot at playing QB for the Cowboys.
