Do you think that with another coach we would have won at least one SB in the 10 year Garrett era?

They had to change the rules after Seattle gave us that garbage ball. Romo did what he did, but it was still shaddy. Dont ask me, cause Ill tell you Dez caught it as well.
no1 not even romo would tell you the ball was too slick. he failed, cost us the game, and cost us a coach

The only Garrett era team with a championship caliber defense, even just on paper, was 2016 (#5 in scoring defense.)

2014 was only average in points allowed (#15).

For perspective, here are the defense ranks on every Brady championship team: 6,1,2,8,1,7.

Any coach who quits over a bad snap is a baby back beeeeeeotch.

(That's not really why Parcells quit.)

Yes, no? and why?

I DESPISE Garrett probably more than anyone here, but I will try to be objective.
I do think that JG wasted the career of many talented players and I truly think that we could have won at least one SB in this past 10 there if it were not for the clapper.

What do you guys think?

I think they would have gotten there, but I'm not sure if they would have beaten the Patriots had they faced them if they did make it.

But I think the 'Garrett effect' got us in 2007, 2014, and 2016 for sure.

So you dont think QB and coaching were factors in playoff losses?

“Factors”? Sure. They’re both important factors in any in or loss. We didn’t lose either of Dak’s playoff games because of any coaching or QB play liability though.

we would have been in at least 2 NFCG....then anything goes...perhaps make a superbowl appearance...perhaps we would have beaten the giants....but probably lose to NE in the superbowl….perhaps we would have beat atlanta, perhaps we beat GB and not talk about the Dez non catch....….. but we defintley with better coaching decisions would have been in a couple of NFCG

They haven't had a complete team top to bottom since Parcells. 2014 and 2016 were solid runs but those defenses were over achieving to reach mediocrity. A lot like Garrett to be honest. He had teams that overcame his mediocrity as a coach. 2007 was probably their best chance but we had immature Romo then. If we'd had 2014 Romo in 2007 I think then they could of had a Lombnardi hoisted. If the Giants could do it in 2007 there is no reason we weren't capable other than some bad choices from a young Romo.

No...not as long as JJ was calling all the shots. He’s finally swallowed his pride. There’s not one JJ fingerprint (other than retaining the OC) on anything since MM was hired.

Tony Romo rule
usatsi_8139338.jpg

Oct 12, 2014; Seattle, WA, USA; Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (9) talks with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (3) following a 26-20 Dallas victory at CenturyLink Field. Mandatory Credit: Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

This one hurts. After the bobbled snap in the Seattle playoff loss, the league no longer allowed home-team ball boys to manage the K balls used for special teams. Instead, each team was given more time to prepare their own balls, and officials are now in charge of keeping and distributing them during games. Talk about too little too late. Imagine Romo’s legacy without that bobbled snap.

Huh?

Stated it was his worst loss of his coaching career and didn't want to start another season again

LOL that coming out sleepwalking at home to a quick 21-3 deficit had nothing to do with coaching.

I don't know if we win a Super Bowl, but we at least get to one and probably a couple of NFC Championship games with a coach who adds anything.

It was actually the refs that put us in that deficit early. The worst officiating that had 4 calls that directly effected points. All against the cowboys

I would say at least get us there. But most likely when when had Romo. He should have had a ring.

I think we had a better shot in 2014.

That was the most physical team we've fielded since the 1990s and Aaron Rodgers hopped on one leg the entire game. The Dez catch and Julius Peppers stripping Murray cost us an NFC championship appearance and we wouldve beat Seattle again. They did not want to face us a second time.
Dont forget the fumble on the kickoff return that we didn't recover. That game was for the taken and the Cowboys missed out on too many opportunities.
