Nobody would love Dez back more than me but we just don’t have a spot for him unless they have something in mind that I don’t see.

Like a move guy similar to Noah Brown and maybe let Dez return punts.. Maybe he could still return punts at a high level who knows.

I just hope we get to see him on the field again for someone that isn’t a NFC east team.

You'd have to be willing to use him as a specialty player. He's a 4th wide receiver, he plays some second tight end, and he plays the X in the red zone. Remember there's two new roster spots this year, it's going to be 55 this year, and smart teams will use those extra roster spots for dynamic players who you can move around and use in innovative ways.

I love Dez, but I have my doubts about him. His last year in the league wasn't pretty - he had sure hands most of his career but he was top 5 in drops that last year. The last thing you want is a red zone target who can't catch the ball. But if he's the Dez we remember, I'd take him back.

Is there still controversy in Texas over gyms being open?

No offense to Dez but it will be nice to see Amari, Gallup or Ceedee in one of these videos.

Nice to see Dak and Zeke still putting in work though.

I agree it would be nice to see our actual receivers practicing with Dak, but maybe Dak and Zeke are just trying to help Dez get signed somewhere.

Receivers standing around waiting for the ball? Yup, definitely Dak throwing the pig skin.

:muttley:

Pretty much what runnings do for probably 80 percent of their catches, at least in our previous system. Find an open spot underneath and show your numbers to your QB.

At least publicly...he is happy with a secondary role. He wants to be a Cowboy again as much as he wants to be in the NFL again.

If that is true and he is willing to be cheap, I am sure he will get a call from someone..probably not us but who knows. Being good friends with over half of the offensive budget helps his chance.

His brand is the 88 though so the team doesn’t seem to care.

Dez isn’t good enough to be worth the distraction he’d bring to the Cowboys.

He won’t be thrilled with being a 4th WR who barely plays, so the cameras will be locked onto him nonstop when he’s pissed on the sidelines.

Do we even know for sure if he’s better than a Noah Brown at this point? He hasn’t played since 2017, tore an Achilles in 2018 and wasn’t exactly a burner in 2017 anyways. He had already lost a half step due to wear and tear. He was already dropping passes here and there due to lack of focus. The layoff could really hurt him.
