Will Dak lead this team to a superbowl victory this season?

No. This team isn't going to contend this season. But they'll be good. Maybe next year they can contend
People said the same thing about the 49ers in 2019 after they witnessed their horrific defense in 2018. But, but, wait.... As you were ...

He has the weapons.

But does he have the ability?

How about the defense and special teams? Have all the weapons you want and you still can't have the worst starting field position in the NFL, be bottom 10 in takeaways, and expect to just outscore your own deficiencies.

How many years do the Cowboys have to fall short before we realize there are 3 facets to football, not just one? The answer to your question is no. This isn't the best team in football.

He has the ability he could have won a Super Bowl in 2016 if he had a defense. The Cowboys have shown no consistency especially defensively the past 25 years to rebound from an 8-8 season and win a SB with a new coaching staff during a virtual offseason. If McCarthy is the answer at head coach it’s going to take time. He’s going to need a normal offseason with OTAs and mini camps. Those of you who continue to think Dak is the problem clearly lack insight into the game of football and haven’t been following the Cowboys for very long.

McCarthy hasn’t coached in a year. He’s going to have to become acclimated to the team he has in Dallas which isn’t going to be easy this year during a virtual offseason. We’re approaching June and he hasn’t even seen the team on the field in pads. I’m just hoping we can make the playoffs and get the ball rolling consistently in the right direction. Any team that’s bringing in a new head coach during a virtual offseason is going to be at a disadvantage. What’s going on right now isn’t normal. It’s going to be difficult for a new head coach and staff to implement a new system with everyone at home social distancing.

Tell me how good the defense is and I'll tell you if Dallas has a shot

11-15 in ppga - no shot

7-10 nfccg contenders

Top 6 super bowl contenders

Dallas finished in 11th last year with 321 points allowed.

The team in 6th place allowed 303 points.

That's an 18 point difference, or basically ONE point a game.

That's the myth that the defense was the problem last year. I said it a million times and I'll say it again. Last year the problem was the MOST inconsistent offense in the NFL, by far. Had the offense been consistent week to week Dallas would have won the division and made the playoffs.

Dallas would have had a tough time in the playoffs because there were many teams that were better overall. When you include Philadelphia, Dallas went 1-6 against playoff teams.

Not sure what team excelled in all 3 phases but for last year San Francisco had the best defense and the Chiefs had the best QB.

Not sure who had best overall special teams

Maybe if a team can just be strong to dominant enough in one of the 3, then that can somewhat mask the deficiencies in the other 2 areas just enough to win the close ones.

Dallas has not shown a consistent ability to be strong to dominant in any of the 3 phases against better teams. Particularly on offense at QB.

I've already chalked this offense up to being good enough moving forward...

MM+Cedarian Lamb + the holdovers...we are more than fine

Defense wasn't championship caliber last year..not by a long shot

short answer is it could happen , but is unlikely.
Then if cowboys make the sb, what if KC is who they play?? who wins that? :omg:

IF the cowboys are good , they have to only get by 3 teams that may be better, SF, NO, and TB
They should be able to handle any of the other teams that might be in playoffs.
O wait GB too lol since they have been a nemesis in recent past.
Those are the 4 teams I say will be competing for nfc championship.

TB is my pet cat team lol. And dallas could be in that mix too. I just need to see them play 5 games or so to say more.
All the others were top playoff teams last year, and I think brady and gronk just might get tampa to the playoffs and beyond.

This.

I get tired of people expecting us to field an All Pro offense and defense in this salary cap era..

It doesn't work like that.

You either have one or the other.

As it is, we better have a top 5 offense that "leads" us to the Superbowl because that's where our money is invested.

You paid the OL..

You paid the RB..

You Paid the WR and used your first round pick on another..

Youre paying your QB..

Darn straight, it is all on the offense this year.

If they can't do it, why pay so much money?

Name one team that is stacked on all phases..

I'll wait.
