Garrett supporters were like, "So what if we're 8-8? His offense is ranked 4th in the NFL in yards gained."
Dak supporters be like, "So what if he choked and can't perform under pressure? He still threw for 4900 yards."
Another winston

So who do you want to be the Head Coach?
This post isn't about that. McCarthy should do well.
I'm addressing all of the Dak supporters who do the same thing the Garrett supporters would do. They would deny how bad he was and use stats to justify keeping him, and they would repeatedly tell us how everyone in the locker room loved him and would follow him anywhere;
They would call anyone who disagreed with them a troll and point to those things to justify their arrogance.
The Dak supporters are using the same arguments, and they, too ignore how bad Dak has actually played.

But where is the proof how 'bad Dak has actually played', besides the fact that you just don't like him? All the evidence points to the contrary.

Here's the thing. I think comparing Garrett to Dak isn't completely stupid. Both have had success and both are likeable and yet both have only achieved middling levels of success. Do they have what it takes to be elite? In that sense, I understand what you're saying.

But to arbitrarily dismiss all of the objective proof that the guy can play is obviously a bad argument, and you won't persuade any one with that kind of BS.

During the 13 miserable years that we were forced to endure the incompetence of Jason Garrett, his supporters repeatedly pointed out the stats of the offense. Garrett's offenses would rack up big yards on passing plays, but because he ignored the run game, drives repeatedly stalled in the red zone when the field shortened and receivers couldn't get open.
We heard how much the players loved Garrett, and how they never quit on him. We heard time and time again how the players believed in him.
Yet every year ended in disappointment, and he wasted years of the fans lives and the careers of many stars. 8-8 was Garrett's record more often than not, yet we heard that we were trolls for demanding that he be fired.
We were even told that we should be happy with an 8-8 record.
Sound familiar?
The danger of this mentality continuing is real. Garrett 2.0 is in the house.
odd how daks number the last 4 years get him a record deal but the same record gets Garett fired,,thats the argument.. we should be happy with a QB going 9-7, 10-6(needed a bailout after starting 3-5, and 8-8 . last two of three years no Playoff's?

oh thats just the coaches record to own? pay the players fire the coach

No one says Dak can't make a few plays. When the team is overpowering another team, Dak looks unstoppable.
The problem with Dak is that he doesn't seem to have the instincts and drive and discipline to take his abilities and make a difference when the Cowboys aren't playing well. He seems content to follow right along with them. He did this in college, as well.
He's not a leader when he needs to lead. He's not a leader at all.
He chokes and freezes up when the games get tough and the pressure is on him.

get used to it. Dak is the Dallas qb for at least 5 years. Enjoy it. Many worse qbs have won the SB

Okay we get it, you hate Dak Prescott. I am glad you clarified this for all of us. A few of us were holding our breath anxiously wondering about this. What a relief to find out that you are really just a garden variety Troll.

And it means nothing when you are on the field.
Troy Aikman was one of the best to ever play the game; his career rating is 81.6.
Dak Prescott's is 97.
Dak isn't a fraction of the leader/quarterback Troy Aikman was.
Passer rating is a fake stat, made up for fans who don't understand the game in order to hype mediocre players.
QBR then doesn't really compare to QBR now, because of rule changes favoring the offense.

Sounds more like you are the troll. He brings some reasonable thoughts to bare but all you Dak fan boys can do is be childish.

I almost miss watching people feign ignorance when discussing Garrett. Conversations about losing in the divisional round once again would bring out the fanboys acting like regular season wins were great.

If we could have 3rd quarter Dak all game long the Cowboys could have gone 14-2.

I think the priority for this new coaching staff is to eliminate the slow starts and finish strong in the 4th.

I personally don’t care if the Cowboys sign or let Dak walk. But after seeing the same crap posted over and over again, it’s time to get a new line of thought, if you can manage it.
