Different eras. Have to go with Jimmy’s team based on the O-line. The size difference is simply too great. By the 4th Q they would be rolling Tom’s D-line.

90s Cowboys IMO. Slightly off topic but, I always thought that the early 90s Cowboys were about as far back as you can go to find a team that could complete and beat teams of today. Maybe, just maybe, the 49ers just before them, but the Cowboys players were just as big and fast as players these days, so I would take them against the best teams of today. 92 Cowboys against whatever that really good year by the Patriots? 90s Cowboys all day.

The best Landry team was the 1977 team even Landry admitted that was his best team. Jimmy’s best team was the 92 team. Most rankings have that team ranked in the top 10 all-time ahead of Landry’s 77 team. I watched both teams play and the 92 team was better. The team was reminiscent of the teams the Steelers had in the 70s. Jimmy’s teams were very physical unlike Landry’s teams that tried to finesse opponents, which led to a lot of mental mistakes. Jimmy’s championship teams had arguably the greatest OL in the history of the game. The OL was so great they made a documentary about it.

No multiple shifting with the offense like Landry’s teams. The Cowboys under Jimmy just lined up and dared opponents to stop them. There was no mystery what the Cowboys were going to do it was going to be a lot of Emmitt Smith. The 92 teams defense featured Charles Haley. Like the offense, the defense was also loaded with talent. That defense could really get after the QB. Loved Landry and the 70s Cowboys but the 77 team would have been no match for Jimmy’s 92 team. The 92 team would have won by 2+ scores. Landry’s teams had way too much trouble trying to contain Franco Harris to have any chance of containing Emmitt behind that mammoth OL.

That DLine would've beat Brady up badly.

I think Jimmy, but would love to see both defenses in this game.

71 Cowboys was a great team. Bob Lilly and Jethro Pugh in their prime would still have given Jimmy's O Line problems. Staubach would have kept Landry's boys in the game. I still think ultimately though, Jimmy's O Line and Emmitt would ware them down and win by 7 to 10 points.

The Great Wall of Dallas was way too big for that 71 DL. Bob Lilly was playing DT at 260 pounds. Plus the 71 team had some age on it. The 90s teams were young.

I would take Jimmy’s best Cowboys team vs any football team in the history of the universe.....

Yeah. That 94 team, the second Super Bowl, to me is the greatest football team of all time. Not only would they beat any of Landry’s teams but any other team in the history of the NFL.

Yep...even though I’m OG and was huge Hat fan of his teams and great players. Gotta give it to Jimmy and his crew....overall talent and tenacity wins the day. Emmit was pure straight up gangsta baller....

What would also make some difference is what rules they would be playing under.

I think the 1977 team is the best and most dominant Cowboy team ever when you look at each team in the era they played. But, the sheer size difference, especially on both lines, would be the difference. As good as Harvey Martin, Randy White, Ed Jones, the rest rest were, they would get bulldozed by the Great Wall. Just way too much size difference.

Love the Landy teams but Jimmy gets the win here. Larry Allen would literally bulldozer whoever was in front of him every play. Emmitt behind moose and Allen would be unstoppable every play.
