I remember him spewing the same crap a year ago, maybe longer. The truth is, if you're sold on a QB you go sign him. The longer you wait, the more the market goes up. It has more to do with what the staff considers a franchise QB, not what fans think they "know he deserves."

Hey, I don't like the trend, but that's what it is. The staff screwed themselves every time they waited.
Yep. This is what happens when you think you are the smartest man in the room and take for granted who you are in discussion with. They did not think Wentz and Goff would get done before Dak and they surely didn't think Mahomes would. Now they are on the verge of Watson getting done before him.

He was not kidding when he said he wanted to be a Chief for life. The dude is all about team and what a great deal. Meanwhile at Dallas, well that requires lots of typing lol.
Don't be silly. You can sign a 10 year deal and then by year 3 claim you are underpaid and ask for a bigger deal. Let's don't pretend like this is some charity case lol.

I think people are assuming Dak is the dumb one here which I don't think is the case. It was confirmed that he Cowboys wanted him when they offered him a 5 year deal. Signing every 4 years if you can do it is smart business. Its risky but its smart.

If Jerry caves and signs a Dakota friendly contract, Prescott was in now way dumb in asking for it

Like, totally not dumb

It also is not that much of a discount. The more I think about it he could have gotten 5 years 210 and then 5 years 250-260 after and been in about the same boat.

This actually seems like a push for negotiations. Not nearly as much guaranteed as I thought. It was rumored that Dak was gonna get the four year deal at $35 million a year. Hope this doesn't derail it.

I just don't think that the Staff is completely sold on DAK....they like him but at a certain price..... DAK is no Patrick Mahomes. DAK is a good QB but can he take the team to the next level or has he reached his ceiling. Thats what the Staff has to decide..... if he was truly the Future of the Cowboys they would of signed him in 2017.

How can you possibly know this before any numbers have come out? LOL
$450M tacked on to the end of his current deal?

Very team friendly. $45M average a year starting in 2022.

Great deal for the Chiefs. Mahomes is VERY rich. He'll make another $300M in endorsements over that time.

But they offered him a 5 year deal so how are they "not sold on him"? What am I missing?

oy vey...
Drafting smart got them a front line starting QB in round 4.
Dak's play earned him 35M+ a year.

The team could have used a brain and got in front of that bullet but they have the same amount of confusion as you apparently.

In case you need help looking at what smart teams do, The Patriots extended Tom Brady in YEAR 3.

lol, now I'm taking insults from the village idiot, what next!? This just in, you quoted my post and proceeded to talk about something entirely different. Stay in your lane grandma!

You're saying that he's less than half of Mahomes on his best day. Show me the evidence without biased opinion.

I’m completely bias. Pro Cowboys, nothing else matters. Here is the only stat that matters. How many years has Dak been a starter? How many NFC Championships? How many SB’s?
Ok, now same questions for PM???

Some people don't understand win success is a team stat or how market value works. It's not what you "think" he deserves.

Of course but there is an easy comparison to make here. Mahomes is a better QB than Dak. Mahomes has also proven he can put a team on his back and win a SB. Dak has not.

Ergo, Dak doesn't deserve what Mahomes got and if people are thinking because Mahomes has an out of the box 10 year contract that has an AAV of $45MM and Dak should approach that number now, they are fooling themselves.

I understand that. But his contract is 45 million per. Dak's deal isn't going to be a extension its going to be a completely new deal. His deal will look more like what Wentz and Goff got excluding their years under their rookie deal.

we will have to wait and see, but I still say 34-36 is what he gets.

So you are judging them based on team success? Which btw, Pat is the best QB in the league. Not denying that. But I don't know how anyone just saw the last SB run and are giving him credit for it as if he had no help. They were losing to the Texans by nearly 30 points. They didn't just get back into that game because of Pat though he was phenomenal in the comeback.
