Spent over 3 months in Kenya near the Tanzania border, and that is when you really respect proverbs, like you quoted.Look for for the old proverb...""a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,".
except your not looking at the elephant in the room. THE PANDEMIC and its affects on the NFL going into 2021 and the market could reset. He could actually lose money if things go awry.Your thread makes absolutely zero sense..
Even if he signs a 500m dollar deal, if there is no season, he doesn't get paid
he makes total sense. It would be foolish not to look ahead at the economics of the uncertainty we have.Your thread makes absolutely zero sense..
Even if he signs a 500m dollar deal, if there is no season, he doesn't get paid
Or, he thinks he is. Who is right/wrong is to be determined, despite your premature proclomation.Dak absolutely is playing the shrewd money game..anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong
and thats fine, but there DOES come a time when you gotta call someones bluff and lay down your cards. Question is, who blinks first?Dak absolutely is playing the shrewd money game..anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong
He's playing for a home run against a stiff wind. What if the NFL season gets cancelled? The NFL still has no idea what damage player politics have done to the fan bases. So, sure Dak might get that 70 million over the next 2 years, but there is a lot of uncertainty and we haven't even factored injury risk.
If Dak can get a 100 million guarantee now, which the cowboys have apparently offered, he'd be a fool not to take it......
LOL, that quote needs to be reassessed from the gutter perspective.Look for for the old proverb...""a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,".
They will make money whether they play or not. How much we don’t know...Your thread makes absolutely zero sense..
Even if he signs a 500m dollar deal, if there is no season, he doesn't get paid
100% agree^^Other than getting injured, this is the factor that might have the most potential to bite Dak in the butt. If this happens I'm not sure NFL salaries will increase over the 8-9 months the way they would have otherwise, and if the NFL takes a sizeable financial hit this season the salary cap might stagnate or fall, and teams may be tighter with the pocket book.
Or, he thinks he is. Who is right/wrong is to be determined, despite your premature proclomation.
What happens if the team continues its tendency to come up small in big spots, and he still hasnt as much as reached an NFC title game after six seasons....how many teams are going to be lining up to pay someone with one, maybe two playoff wins to a large contract?I think Dak is doing his best to maximize his earning potential.
By taking the Tag route, he is looking at making about $70 Million in the next 2 years.
Therefore, he will be able to sign a long term deal after that for well over $150 million given that he will be still young.
If he were to sign a 4-5 year deal now, he would be able to get about $150 plus. But, he would be well into his 30's at the end.
By going the Tag route, he can get the $70 plus another big contract afterward.
I think he could still make well over the $70 million even being in his early 30's but by going the Tag route, he almost insures that he will maximize his earnings whereas signing a 4-5 deal he cold potentially get injured in a way that prevents him from getting a big contract afterwards.
He seems to be gambling that he won't suffer a major injury on the Tags, but I guess it's a gamble he's willing to take.
And really, we may as well say he's 27 and will be 31 in 4 years since his birthday is in 2 weeks.Dak is 26. He'll be 30 in 4 years. Just sayin'.
I think he's playing w/ fire. This could also go really bad for him.
Absolutely not wrong. We do not know yet if his game is going to work. So far, it has not.Wrong
4 or 5 years, doesn't matter, he'll be in his prime after his next contract is done. I don't comprehend the whole contract dispute thingie. And really, we may as well say he's 27 and will be 31 in 4 years since his birthday is in 2 weeks.
And although he has shown signs, Dak has not yet taken the next step, which is consistency. If he doesn't, man does he stand to lose a pile of money. What happens if the team continues its tendency to come up small in big spots, and he still hasnt as much as reached an NFC title game after six seasons....how many teams are going to be lining up to pay someone with one, maybe two playoff wins to a large contract?
Betting on yourself is one thing, betting on the entire team is another.
He needs to WIN here in the next two years to get the big deal he wants....yet the same thing, somewhat less, is in front of him right NOW.
Why gamble on the team winning when you dont need to?
Sure if all goes right he can make a few more dollars, but is it really worth the risk with all that could go wrong?
I think this was one of the reason why Chris Jones from the Chiefs signed. It was reported that due to the uncertainity that he wanted his money now and it was guarantee. I am all for betting on yourself and applaud Dak for doing it but sometimes you bet wrong and it bites you in you know what. He's playing for a home run against a stiff wind. What if the NFL season gets cancelled? The NFL still has no idea what damage player politics have done to the fan bases. So, sure Dak might get that 70 million over the next 2 years, but there is a lot of uncertainty and we haven't even factored injury risk.

dak is playing the greed game with a bunch of billionaires he stands a 50 50 chance to win or loseDak absolutely is playing the shrewd money game..anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong
^^truth bombdak is playing the greed game with a bunch of billionaires he stands a 50 50 chance to win or lose
Yeah, I went to Nairobi and Moshi for a Kilimanjaro hike. The Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi was cool, the rest of that trip the food left me a little light in the waist coming home...lolSpent over 3 months in Kenya near the Tanzania border, and that is when you really respect proverbs, like you quoted.
I lost 32 lbs during that time frame, and nearly died.
Doesnt matter..
LOL
Dak never has to worry about loosing a single ounce
