This is the best deal all around. Sign the franchise tag bet on yourself again. And take it from there what’s the problem.

Problem is, he played himself.

He will expose himself this year, and live in regret when teams see this and only want his as a backup.

Teams aren't hurting for a starter. So he better ball out and take us deep in the playoffs. Or else he's looking at maybe 25 mil a year IF he's lucky from a hole in the wall team.

No more Cowboy commercials and endorsement money. You punk

:lmao:

Colin pretty much says failure to sign is greed.

Believes Jones and team have offered what Dak is worth.

I think he is right.

I wont fully place the blame anywhere.

But Collin nails one point 1000%......Dak has been given more on that offensive side of the ball than any player could EVER expect.
Nobody gets everything

Prescott did exactly what I think he should’ve done.
I do, too.

He has set himself up for a huge failure.

With this pandemic..one illness outbreak could end the whole season on Dak.

I doubt if that happens Dak has a zero chance of getting a second Tag or a long-term deal.

Dallas will cut their loses and roll with Dalton and explore the draft in 2021 or trade for a QB.

Dak thinks he is controlling everything.

He can't and I think he finds this out now.

The ball bounces funny sometimes.

It bounced well for him when Romo went down. He ascended and got his shot.

5 years later it has not panned out. That's the risk he took.

Now this virus becomes a player possibly in his path.

Hmmmm...

Yep.

Not sure anybody in Cowboy history has been given as much as Dak.

And still..no contract to help the team.

It's all about Dak.

Not again Red... negotiating in an open market to get the best deal you can is not greed it's called smart business! If by waiting Dak has a chance to make more money then who are we to call him greedy? Sure I can see how it looks that way to an average everyday Joe, but these guys play the game that is available to them and no one should fault them. Dak has no idea what other teams would offer him because he was tagged. By all accounts this was a smart business move by Dak, and for Colin or even you to sit around and point fingers calling him greedy is just being judgmental and the last time I checked the good lord gave us direct instructions to not take on this type of behavior...

I don't know how to make it any plainer.

Personally I like Dak.

But at some point you have to stop planing his game.

Or maybe it's his agents game.

Which I suspect. But it just seemed disingenuous what Dak is doing.

If I was Jerrah and having to keep being embarrassed by these hollow offers..

I would just not pick up the phone when Dak wants to talk. Dak needs to get face to face with Jerrah and Jerrah needs to look him in the eye and say..

"No mas.. final offer."

Then say he will use the bathroom and be back to pickup the signed contract or Dak needs to shake hands and it's over.

Enough. Really.

Jerrah is the billionaire here.

Dak is an employee.

I also think Jerry isnt in the worst spot.

As far as getting compensation for him, yeah that's over...

But if Prescott does zero in big spots and/or cant manage a playoff win in two years on the tag, I'm not so sure how many teams will line up for a guy that has one playoff win in six seasons.

And at that point it would have to be time to move on anyway.

If by chance he has success, Prescott will want to stay, and Jerry will be glad to pay.

I see no problem here.

Therefore, Prescott now has to perform to get his money while it was sitting there in front of him.

Stupid, stupid move considering all that has to go well for him to have the ideal scenario.

I don't see Jerry paying regardless. From the reports they are not even open to considering a 4-year deal. Will they be open to a 4-year deal next year? And will Dak even be open to a 4-year deal next year? He might only want 3 years. Dak has only gotten more expensive since 2019 and in all likelihood will be even more expensive next offseason.

That’s all fine if you don’t want to sign him. But if you really want him you step up and over pay. It happens all the time.

Chiefs didn’t have to offer the kind of contract they did. Could have shaved it off a little still making it a deal he couldn’t refuse.

That’s what you have to do if you really want someone. Apparently we didn’t want Dak bad enough. And that’s fine. You move on.

We’ll be fine . We haven’t had any problems finding a QB this era.
